im just not driving it until its all good. I still need to swap out the starter and was going to do that and the signal right after. is the turning signal relay the same as in the car? the auto parts places here are small and have limited parts, nothing for scooters really, you are lucky if you can find a fuel filter for a scooter, lawn mower lol.
if I toss up some hand signals , which I know makes it legal to turn im sure ill still get pulled over and ask why my signal lights don't work, the cops are ducks here. and again, very little English. it will be like " why hand, why no light? "

Yes the Oil for the Crankcase is different than the Tranny oil. Crankcase most use 10Wx40 and Tranny Gear oil 75w90 or 80W90. Alleyoop how many miles before one should change the gear oil?

If you have a trickle charger I don't think it would hurt to put it on it for a few hours. My Sears battery maintainer has an indicator light that turns green when it's "full". I leave it on all winter on the Fashion. how has that gel battery held up after all these months? I have to wonder if Chinese gel batters are worth a crap and if they go bd after year or 2 like the normal cheap ones.

read a lot skimmed a lot. either you are just barley charging the battery or you have an electrical gremlin. which is common for chinese scooter. i had an issue starting once and my electrical friend told me to check the 6 pin the on CDI. low and behold it was a loose pin. I'm wondering if you don't have some positive wire with small exposed area rubbing the frame and raining the battery... very very slowly. I fixed my busted gas gauge once, i jack up the scooter and put a new underneath it.... Okay not really i swapped scooters or rather i swapped my engine in to a new scooter with failing engine. Any ways i think the busted gauge maybe an issue in it's self a wiring or gauge issues maybe in the dash cluster. not necessarily related to you starting issue. Have you tried smacking the solenoid? my i've seen my dad do it dozens of times ones that have sat long time or corroded/dirty from sitting in wet place or place near the water. EDIT: sorry for tipple posting.

cdoublejj - no worries about the triple post, no where near as bad as how long ive dragged all of this out through sever procrastination working on my scoot. I haven't changed gear oil since my last scooter since my current one only has like 400 miles on it. I went by the maintenance card for my old scoot on when to change it and don't remember what it said so I honestly don't know. ill have to look it up soon for my newer scoot.
I just got the gel battery 2 mo ago so cant say how well it works
I will put check the 6 pin on the CDI in my list of stuff to check if what im doing now doesn't work. thanks
I changed the solenoid already, along with gas tank and guage bobber thingee and it works now. about to change the starter and need to change the turning signal relay. the scooter sat with gas for a year and rusted out the tank so a couple of months ago I replaced the gas tank, fuel guage, gas lines, filter, manual shut off switch, AND carb! also replaced the battery then too.

check for corroded or loose electrical plug and or connections as well as grounds. check any wire that are tip tied to the frame worn spots, (spots worn through the rubber and showing bare metal)
