Anybody know how many amps a regular 50cc 12V Starter is?
I am purchasing a TWO-WAY R/C Switch, and I am pretty sure the one that I need to push the starter, is a 12Volt 10Amp module.
I want to have remote start. I know you can get the motorcycle Remote Start kit from china for about 20 bucks, but I think I can just get this R/C Momentary Switch (12v/10amp) for 7 bucks! hahaha
Anybody have a clue??? thanks!!!
PS - I might be able to wire it to my Starter Relay...? Instead of the Straight to the starter?? Right? THANKS AGAIN GUYS!!!

Your PS is correct. Modify the circuit if needed and switch the starter relay with the remote. Most scoots have safety switches so the brakes must be on before the starter will operate.

Can someone explain to me why a remote start is desirable on a bike? It's not like I need to get the A/C cooling off the inside....

All the scooter groupies I have seen around have been too young to be interesting.

You will be taking it off sooner rather than later, most cause problems and drain your battery, but hey give it a try and see how it works. For it to operate it has to be live all the time so watch how much it is drawing juice from your battery. Alleyoop

Thanks for ALLLLL the input GUYS!!!
The MAIN reason why " I " want remote start, is to WARM my valves before riding, I am pretty sure that most of us, ON THE GO, DON'T start the scooter and let it warm up, before jumping on and giving it WOT. "IF" I had a remote start, and ALWAYS put the scoot on center stand, I could start it BEFORE I jumped on its back and gave it hell! hahaha, BUT YES! the groupies are important to impress as well!!!
ALLEY, I will look into it possibly draining my battery, I have been experimenting with batteries AS WE SPEAK, All 12volts, 4, 7, 9, and 12 AMP Hours, as well as a MAIN DISCONNECT, BEFORE IGNITION, but with the Remote Start it wouldn't be an option. My battery(12v12a/h) ENERCELL(Radioshack) is a decent size battery, I haven't been able to kill it yet, and I have used it to crank other dead scooters, with a small pair of jumper cables! BUT I AM STILL worried about not having enough juice, as I run a 250watt AMP(2x5x7"speakers), a 12v ACC. Plug(Phone Charger), 2x 55watt fog lights, BUT ALL OTHER BULBS are LED, My volt gauge on the speedo ALWAYS says 13-14volts so far though.

Whats wrong with starting the scooter the old fashioned way, then snap the sleeves on your jacket and zip it up and install a helmet? By the time you do that the scooter is ready to ride anyway. Unless it is 10 below your good to go and besides it it that cold your nuts to be riding in it. john
