Genuine scooters has new toys for the lineup. motorscooterguide.net/I think the Stella with CVT is a good sales move but I don't like the implication. The idea that there's at least one shifty scooter left is comforting to me. If suddenly sales of CVT models eclipse non-CVT Stellas you can kiss the four speed model goodbye. That would be a real shame. Switching from a two stroke to a four stroke was bad enough.

Good thing that they are still making USED 2 stroke shifters! I will always have a 2 sroke shifter nothing like the smell of a 2 stroke first thing in the morning. And doing a wheelie off a stop light aint bad either!

I understand the need for CVTs for people with disabilities, but there is something satisfying about a gear box. I love riding the 50cc semi automatic clutch in Rocket. Getting a clean shift is an art form. I would love to get my hands on a 110cc BMS Bi Metro or SYM Symba some day. I hear they rock. A Stella 2T is on my bucket list.

I know a woman who has one in New Hampshire. She's loving it, takes 80 mile rides (in warmer weather than they have now) and says it flattens hills. I only know that on a level road my similar motored 50cc bike indicates 55 mph. I would love to see how a Bi Metro rolls. Plus my 50cc has been stone ax reliable.

There are a few places on my road that an auto works better....extreme slow speeds while in a sharp turn going uphill or down hill. I would prefer a shifter for a normal road. There are a lot of people who haven't a clue about shifting. And cars are another story too. The guy or girl who if a rich uncle gave them a Porsche that couldn't even drive it home! A cvt must be a lot cheaper to build for one thing./

Well I must say I had serious trepidations about the "auto" trans,,, nothing but sliding pulleys and a rubber band,,,, but HEY the damned thing works and good too,, I probably am hitting the et a little harder than the recommended "brake in" regime from vespa and am quite pleased with the acceleration ,, it has some zip,,it surprized me to be honest,, and i'm used to ferocious acceleration,,, scare the he!! out of you ,,and just blastin around the lot here at the shop I've got this dopey grin ridin the et my neighbors probably think I'm nuts

i can deal with twist and go or shifting...but not the one a Spyder has... the shifting on spyder is really weird, your two hands are working /gas and clutch/ no break lever on the right side of the handlebar/ breaks are in footpegs shet!....and you cannot lean on turns, therefore the centrifugal force will kick you out of the seat..stupid design!...but looks cool.
who has one?? pls chime in! and we'll start a hot debate here..i'm in the mood now!
