Back in January i was injured at work. Partial tear of my rotator cuff. Workers comp so far has paid for my time off wihch has totaled about 30 days within those months and they have provided medical as well. I was placed on light duty since then. Recently I was deemed to have reached maximun medical improvement with a permanent partial disability now. Today I was told that the company cannot adhere to the light duty status on a permanent basis so we parted ways today.

I used to accept WC but I stopped for just those kinds of events. Here is the problem phrase: workman's compensation doctor. You work for the insurance carrier, or the company, not the patient. I won't do it. I'm sorry bud, that sucks. Things have a way of working out, they really do. Go on a ride, you'll feel a little better. Rich.

Been thru the ringer myself. Thrown to the curb after 20.5 years of service a few years ago. Got the call on thanksgiving day. Was all about the bottom line. Lost most of my Left Middle index finger on the job back in the early Eighty's. Stich it up, put duct tape on it and went to work. Two hours of intense deep Left Shoulder surgery in 02. 90 minutes of Left knee surgery in 09. Oh ya forgot about the Compound Fracture of my right big toe in 95.
Retreat fall back, regroup and find something else to do. I'm a firm believer that this is the land of opportunity. Ride On! Clone

God Bless ya and prayers things work out Dave

Others on my other motorcycle forum had this happen What's your forum Dave? Anything melting up there? 75 here today.....yep 75....think of me Dave....often. RichOh ya forgot about the Compound Fracture of my right big toe in 95. Metal implant? The orthopedics I work with won't do a compound on any bone without a stabilizing titanium implant and THEN pulling the skin back over and stitching. even small bones like the toe. They'd probably skip the small toes but not the great toe. So was it astoundingly painful or pass out painful? RichI used to treat a bunch of test riders at the Harley Davidson facility in Talladega. About 10 years ago, without prior notice, they laid most of them off just before Christmas....repeat....just before Christmas. Most of them had the option of picking up and moving to the new test facility in Arizona. These guys had kids....families. They couldn't just leave, most of them couldn't go and lost their dream jobs. Nice....real nice. Now they've closed the Arizona facility...it's too hot and dusty. REALLY!?

I rode bikes before I moved to my trike. I rode a Honda Shadow Sabre and a GL1200 Goldwing. (the Magna 750 was wrecked when I had my accident) Another girl and I formed the Rocky Mountain Sabres in 2002 which became part of the www.thesabrehood.orgThe group is still very active and has plenty of summer rides in the surrounding mountain areas. Raining and cold here still. I gotta get the trike ready for riding. Balance the tyres, fluid changes, etc. Gonna be a nice summer riding, if it ever gets here. I 'lost' my job due to the BRAC closure of the Air Force Finance Center in Denver. Had 2 choices: 1. Move to Ohio 2. find your own damn job . I was too old to be retrained, so I moved. Getting ready to retire now, and move back to Denver. I know when it's time to go.

I won't bore you guys with the details, but my job screwed me over and pushed me out too. I'm better for it. You will be too. If they didn't value you enough to stick by you in tough times, then they're not worth your effort.

Hey Dave, is that your grandkid posing on your Trike? He's maybe 20? Hey Doc, bore me, please bore me, I love melodrama. Especially when it involves you.

Took a lap with the MX'r with tennies on and caught a root. remove shoe and saw goo, didnt look at it again. Dr was a jerk in the ER, I only found out the bone went thru the nail when he told me he was concerned of the exposed bone. Major pain, when informed of exposed bone was almost pass out pain. Was like he just took some side cutters and hacked off the excess and put a few stitches across the top, Nail is a bit funny growing and looking now thats all. Ya the "Shootist" lost the dream job, Trophy Wife and all.
