Just wondering what kind of hobbies people on here have? Me, it's a little bit of everything. I'm not a typical woman - I enjoy restoring antique furniture and most my furniture is stuff I restored. Love working on cars so I end up doing it for my sons & their friends. I do paint by number kits but its the level 3 kits - really detailed. I like model car kits but I'm kinda picky, like the old cars/firetrucks. Currently have 7 cats & spend lots of time outdoors with them in warm weather. My cold weather hobby is writing, just an amateur but it gives me something to do when I'm not feeling up to getting out of bed. I have fibromyalgia, along with a few other probs, so sometimes have days I can barely get out of bed. I'm a huge Marvel fan so most my writing has been Marvel related fan stories. My younger son's friends say I'm a cool mom (even though I'm over 40, lol). My stories are here if anyone likes to read stuff like that. archiveofourown.org/users/critterlady/worksSo what kind of hobbies does everyone else enjoy?

Cyborg, we really have to get some pics of your stuff on this thread. You guys wouldn't believe he can do this kind of stuff as well as put on his shorts in the morning. Pete, give me the OK and I'll post what you sent me or you can do it or I can shut the hell up.
Here is a link to Lantern Scooters hobby...very eclectic, very cool.
I repair and build computers as a hobby but it seems to be turning into a business. However I really enjoy it and still consider it a hobby that I'm getting a little coin for. Scooters are my hobby, plain and simple. I've never charged anybody a dime for working on one but if it evolved like the computers I would have to. I also buy Tampons...do you know why? Because then I can skydive, ski, swim, or go whitewater rafting! Sorry Genseeker, I'm a buffoon.
Here's Alley honing his hobby down to a science:
Please don't go Genseeker, don't leave the forum, I'll be good...I promise. Sticky My wife collects paperweights, I'll get some pix of those tomorrow. She also does origami, I'll get pix of those too. And she builds race cars and helped design the space shuttle. She also helped invent gravity and photons. Then she married me and it all went to hell. Yes dear, I'm on the computer. No...not porn. (shh...yeah it is ). OW! That hurt Sue. Sticky

Pete! The woodworking stuff man! Put that up too...unbelievable. Zeus's entertainment center! And the Dairy Queen thing!
V...my middle brother did that for years. It was astounding the scenes he would set up. We would sit for hours watching the trains and drinking potato water. RichardV, I would love to see pix of your hobby. Bill, my brother, was tragically killed in an auto accident. His trains were auctioned off, I regret doing that to this day. I think keeping them and setting them up again would have been therapeutic. I know he would have loved it. Rich

No worries Bashan, like I said I'm an old country girl. It's real hard to offend me. When I was a little kid back in the 70's (yes showing my age here) my dad was a firefighter here in Salisbury NC & then Myrtle Beach SC. He told me they used to go to the groc store and buy cases of feminine pads to keep in the firetruck. Now this was way back before paramedics, hard to believe we once didn't have them. Anyways, back then they couldn't do much first aid for people, only basic stuff. But if they got a bleeder, they'd put a pad on it and wrap it tight, he said it kept people alive quite often.
My grandpa was an old country pastor & contractor and I spent lots of time with him during the summer. My dad spent 6 yrs as a firefighter, then the rest of his life working in a siding factory. But my family believed all of us kids should be able to take care of ourselves if we decided not to get married. So us girls learned basic care care, like tuneups and changing a flat and the boys learned to cook a little and sew a little. I just preferred the cars over sewing, but I love to cook too.
I am currently studying "tiny houses" and off the grid living on the net. My older son has moved out and probably not long after he graduates college my younger son will as well. So I won't need a big trailer for just me. Got a friend who can maybe get me an old trailer, maybe a reefer. I want to use it as the base and design my own tiny home, if I can get a reefer, then most the insulating is already done for me.
If it works, then I'll just get me a small piece of land, set the trailer up, put in solar power, get satellite internet, add water and I'm good to go. I'll have the scoot to get around on. Or I may buy me a small motorhome so I can travel, the possibilities are endless.
