What's the trick to getting your gas tank to stop leaking? When I fill up, if I don't have it on the center stand, I get a pretty persistent drip until the level in the tank drops below the float level gasket.

How many miles you got on that thing now Matt? I hit 1900 miles this afternoon. I find every excuse I can to ride the darn thing. still need to change out the starter clutch and replace all the gaskets using red RTV sealant instead of clear, but since Allyoop never said I'd blow up my engine, I just keep riding it.

Can the gasket be bad? It's only got 1900 miles on it.

Is the float sensor held on with 4 nuts onto the tank or is it the round type that you twist on. If its the 4 nut type you can try tighten them BUT EASY JUST SNUG they strip real easy.
Now if its the 4 nut job look and see where exactly it is leaking bottom right side or left sid or bottom of the plate. and just snuge tight a little on wherever the leak is coming from. That plate holding it on has to be on EVENLY otherwise they will leak from somewhere around. I KNOW I HAVE one of the 4 nut jobs on my Trike(HEHE).
And if you have to take the dam thing off and just make a new gasket and ADD it to the one that is already on there. Alleyoop

I have some gasket material and clear RTV. That ought to do the trick don't you think?

Yes that will work just fine if you use the silcone RTV make sure you let it dry first before put it back on. Alleyoop
