Ok, so I traded my little 50cc for a 150cc, and when i got it home it ran fine and hit 45-50 for about 30 minutes. All of a sudden the the scooter struggles to get over 25. It started where when you pull WOT it would actually stall it. Cleaning the carb resolved this issue now it just seems to have no power. When i get to 25 i can hear a grinding/vibration come from the CVT case which wasn't there until after the carb cleaning and the scooter could hit 25 again. There is also a hose on my valve cover which I believe goes to the cvt case. That hose appears to be BLOWING, which is abnormal to me. Leads me to believe that maybe there is a valve issue? It does still blow out of the exhaust l, too. Please ask any question. I'd prefer not to buy a whole new motor.

Have you adjusted your valves? It sounds like it could POTENTIALLY be closed valves, which is quite a problem sometimes. Another idea is to open up the CVT cover to see what's up. Check on the condition of the belt, rev it up without the cover on (on the center stand) and see if the belt is catching up anywhere. You might need a new belt!

+1 on the above. What year, model, and how many miles? Do you know the history, if you are not first owner?

If you ran the scooter dry on gas it might have clogged a jet. I am not really sure I am sorry to hear you are having bad luck with your scooter. Other than that I would wait to here from alley or basham keep us posted.

I didn't mess with my valves in any way. I had the CVT open and it seems to spin fine. Cant tell if its a clutch issue not applying the power, or a motor issue, and it isn't generating the power it is supposed to. Sent from my LG-LS980 using Tapatalk

You should adjust your valves. I'm not sure the valve clearance for a 150cx though. Somebody should jump in and help out though.

Take a picture of the hose near the valve cover and upload it.

That hose is your crankcase vent and is blowing oil vapor. If it is stuck into your CVT case it's blowing oil where there is not supposed to be oil. The vent is operating normally, it's supposed to do that. If that hose was connected onto the air intake like many of them are, you now have an air leak which would kill your power. Look for a nipple on the air system that is open. And yes, do the valves, there's several tutorials in the Library. You need to learn how to do that.

I'm in agreement with Bashan. If that vent hose is attached to your CVT, then it cold be lubing your variator/belt and slipping causing no power. Does the engine over rev when you are at 25 MPH? On my scoot, that vent hose is attached to the underside of my air box. Check there to see if there is an open fitting. You may have knocked it loose when you were adjusting your carb.
