zugzug: Thanks, but I believe that is the wrong one for my scoot. Mine has 5 wires: 3 yellow 1 green and one blue. The latter two go to the CDI and the three yellows go to the regulator/rectifier. Thanks for the site link though. I'll add it to my list.

I went ahead and ordered a new stator. Big Guy had one listed in the 250B cross reference section for $49.
Other than going to Roketa, where else can I get the gasket required for that side of the engine?

Let me know how that works out for you. Are you getting a new regulator also?

Yes. I ordered it first, but I wasn't getting enough voltage out of the stator and after looking in the manual it doesn't look that complicated to replace so I figured I'd just do it.
Still wondering where to get the gasket.

I'm following this thread pretty close. I've got the CFmoto (Honda clone). How hard is it to change the stator? Any threads on it? I've got a new regulator, blocking diode, CDI/Coil, and I still can't get the charging voltage over 12.75 volts. (that's at 5K rpm)

Well I found it quite interesting. Was out all day on Sunday from 9 am til about 730 pm. I drove all day temps in the 80s but I took it really easy to keep the engine cool enough to keep the cooling fan from coming on.I was able to go all day without any problems it started every time. When we left Sauk City on the way home I told my dad lets open it up and started riding at about 5000 rpm which holds me about 55 mph. Rode about 45 min and stopped for Gas and shut scooter off it did not have enough charge to start it back up. But I noticed as soon as we started running faster the temp came up to 1/4 and the fan came on and Stayed on the whole time we were running. I did not do the mod with extra fans yet. I am waiting until I get the fan mentioned above it puts out 1100 cfm and only draws 3 amps. that puts it in at about 35 watts. That is almost half what the stock fan draws. When I get that fan I will also install the 3 120mm fans I have infront of the radiator blowing in to the radator and keep them on all the time as they are only .26 amp so total of .78 amp draw if it will keep the main fan from kicking on would be a huge savings on the charging system. I will let you know how that all goes. I also have one of them Volt Meters coming and will monitor what is gong on with my charging also.

Well now yesterday I received my new regulator. Today I received my new stator and I'm certain that the new gasket will take 3 months on back order to get because that's Murphy's law. LOL Stator was a little smaller than I thought it would be though. Never having had the thing out I just thought it would be a little bigger. Whenever I get that new gasket I will break it all down and get it fixed and charging again hopefully.

Hi Todd, Just got this fan today. Thanks for the link. Very fast shipping! I bench tested it and sure enough - 3 amps. ;D It seemed to move at least as much air as the OEM fan. I think the motor/fan unit is a direct replacement for the scoot unit. Just unbolt the blade and take out 2 screws on the motor and remount on the scoot shroud.

About 1/3 the cost of the OEM replacement you have in the ebay link to.
I just go my Fan today to. I I 100% agree very fast shipping. And on top of that they charged me 8.99 for shipping and the actual cost was 10.14. If all goes well I will get to put my fan in tomorrow. I have to go to check in for Jury Duty but with any Luck I wont get stuck sitting on the main JURY all day again. If I can get it installed tomorrow I might be able to give it a test on Saturday. :-)

Yea, I paid $8.99 shipping against an actual $12.88. The website apparently needs updating. They are also on ebay with the higher shipping costs. Are you going for a replacement of the OEM or are you going to do an add on like in the front of the radiator? Replacement.. I am going to put my 3 120mm fans in front blowing into the radiator. and have them on all the time.

And you will still be using less power than just the OEM fan. If this doesn't cure the cooling problem, I don't know what will. Good luck.

Mine really was not a cooling problem. As much as that the Main fan comes on about when the guage hits 1/4. And on the days it is 80 here and I run Hwy speeds at 5000 rpm it comes on and stays on and runs my battery dead. So I am trying to keep that main fan from coming on as much as possible to try and reduce the drain on the battery so that I can go a day run 55 mph for more that 30 min without killing the battery. And without having to charge the battery every single day.

Oh crap. No one caught that before? Im usually tired when I get on here but I shoulda caught it before. If your fan is coming on at 1/4 its your problem. I bet as soon as your scoot gets warmed up good the fan comes on and stays on. Im too tired right now to find it but there is a fix for it that I read about on another forum. Of course putting that low draw fan on it in place of the stocker should do the trick too. Ill see what I can find for ya when Im not so tired.
