Those "trike" kits don't make the scooter/motorcycle a trike but rather a four wheeler. There for they can't be legally titled as a scooter/motorcycle. We know that motorcyclists have been arrested for having these helper wheel set-ups. All that's needed now is an anti-cycle DA to get a conviction and the scooters will follow.
I would look into a side car first. They also add a lot of storage space.

Arrested for having helper wheels? I've never heard of anyone being arrested for using a voyager kit, as it's removable anyway. Granted, it aint a trike, but for those of us that are balance challenged, and dont have deep pockets, a voyager kit may be the easiest/cheapest way to go.

You are totally wrong bro, you best check with the DMV if you go and register with a 3-4 wheeler they stamp your license as being restricted to a 3 or 4 wheeler. You are NOT licensed for a TWO wheeler and the reason is the driving tests are different for 3-4 wheelers and a Two wheeler. Alleyoop

I was not referring to a driving license. DOT describes a motorcycle as having two or three wheels. A four wheeler can not be legally titled as a motorcycle under DOT regulations.

AR. is the same with motorcycle definitions. Probably more of a gray area and states are pretty much ignoring definitions. They may work well and all but those I have seen on the road sure look jury-rigged and home made. And one day they may be all I can ride. It seems to me if a cop arrested a person riding one that did not have a motorcycle endorsement and it went to court in a state that defines a motorcycle to have 2 or 3 wheels it should get tossed out as it must then be a car. john

An interesting defense. But, it couldn't be called a car or be registered as one. It would be required to have all the crash test results and equipment of an automobile and that would be interesting on a 50cc scooter.
I'd still prefer a side hack and if made properly they come off as easy as the factory built helpers. They can also have brakes. And you could have several milk crates on it. For now a trailer will do.

All hog wash, just go to the DMV and you will get learned. See the Burgman with 4 Wheels the driving test they eliminated the zig zag around the cones and did not count going around staying in the 4 foot lane because the width of the rears wheels would be outside the 4 foot lane. My License is stamped as ML, which here in illinois means limited to 3 or 4 wheels not good for two wheels, motorcycle or scooter. Alleyoop

The Federal Department of Transportation has nothing to do with your states Department of Motor Vehicles requirement for drivers license. I am license to drive any motorcycle, any size or legal configuration, but it must meet DOT regulations.

Thanks to everyone posting but all I'm wanting to know if anyone on this forum has ever used or have the Treasure Coast Scooters & Things (Trike Kit) and how well it is built before I buy one and if it's worth the money it looks like what I would like to have for my (mc-13-250) which is the cfmoto I haven’t got $2,000. to $4,000 to buy the other kits that has been mention above I do need to convert mine due to my heart condition and c.o.p.d. haven't the strength to handle the two wheels like I though I could
