Alley, when you get a new battery, do you trickle charge it until it reads 12.6 volts?

I heard that you should trickle charge your battery once a month even if you ride your scooter often. Is this true?

I pay about $4 per lantern battery, and take them scooter camping to power my phone and tablet when my camping site does not have hookups. It works great. I connect 2 lantern batteries together, and connect them to a cigarette port. Then I connect a USB charger to the cigarette port. So, since I carry lantern batteries anyway, it is nice to know I can also jumpstart my scooter

Let's say your scooter battery dies. Would it be possible to jump start using two 6-volt lantern batteries connected to each other?

The plot thickens. The lesson I learned from this thread is just to buy the cheapest belt and replace it often.

Changed my rear tire 45 days ago. Rear tire went flat today. Darn nail right through tire! ARRRRGH! Removed tire from wheel and waiting for new tire from Amazon.

I am considering buying a Honda PCX150, but I prefer flat seats so I can scoot back on the seat. Is it possible to convert the PCX150 seat to a flat seat?.....

amazon does not sell fake stuff (their partners may though). notice that the fake belt that alleyoop showed you on amazon is only sold by amazon's partners. amazon itself does not sell it
and amazon bends over backyards to make you happy if you are dissatisfied.

Thanks Alley. Rosie, ask seller for refund. If he demands that you send belt back first, ask him to pay for return shipping. If he refuses, complain to Ebay. Don't quit until you get full refund. Then.... www.amazon.com/Gates-PL20708-Standard-Drive-Belt/dp/B000KK9SZIMake sure you buy it from Amazon, and not one of Amazon's partner stores.

Is the word "gates" on the belt itself? What else is written on the belt including numbers?

Yeah, I think I will always stick with 150cc. I like lightweight scooters. Plus. I actually prefer never riding faster than 45mph because it is safer if you have the skills to do so. I used to race road bicycles, so I am used to riding slowly with traffic.
Lower speeds means more reaction time when an accident is about to happen. It always means lower speed at impact if an accident does occur.
As for riding with traffic, if I am holding up traffic and there is no shoulder, I will pull over AFTER a stop sign so that cars will pass me at 5mph. Then I get back on the road after the last car passes me. I use this trick a lot.

Thanks guys. I was considering buying a motorcycle, but I am sticking with scooters because....
1. Cheaper to fix. My rear tires cost $30. 2. Better storage. 3. More comfortable because I can change my leg position and sitting position. 4. Cheaper insurance.
Lots of motorcyclists think scooters are gay, but they can go screw themselves.
