Thanks guys. I am relieved that you don't think the noise is inside the engine block. I will keep trying to find it. I just did a 250-mile road trip without a problem despite the noise. And I only notice the noise when idling.

I am very happy with Kenda K329. The tread lasts longer than Kenda K413. Look for it on Amazon.

As for safety, the safest scooter is a scooter with a experienced rider. Ride, ride, ride until you are an expert.

And memorize this safety video.....

Changed my oil today. Used high-mileage oil for the first time ever. I think it is making a big difference. Rode 50 miles and my oil level has not dropped. If this keeps up, I will be very happy. Jct, thanks for the idea.
