Okay. I heard that I should try to add Seafoam to the gas. I was thinking of trying this tomorrow when the auto parts store opens as my first step in trying to fix the problem. I just filled the gas yesterday and this happened twice with my old scooter (same exact kind I have now) right after I filled the gas but it only bogged a little for about 20 seconds and didn't shut down or refuse to accelerate at all. Is " bogged " the right word? Does it mean put put put, sputter, give u crap when trying to accelerate? LOL.

I can't even believe this. I have a 2011, new scooter and it just reached 200 miles. I have only been driving it for a couple weeks, since I bought it new from the dealership. I just went to go for a drive, it started fine, I drove it about half a block and then it started lagging and when I tried to accelerate it shut off. So I pulled over, sat for about 10 seconds then turned it back on and it started no problem and idles fine but when I go to accelerate more than a tiny tiny bit it like chugs and gives me crap. If I accelerate a little more it will just shut off. I can't even accelerate enough to get it to move w out it shutting off. Any idea what this could be? I tried to turn it off wait a minute and turn it on again and same thing. I gave if 4 tries then walked it home.

True. Ya, 20mph is all I need here. People don't pay any attention to red lights or stop signs on South Beach so not only am I only going 20mph, I'm always stopping for idiots too! I see people on bikes get further faster than me sometimes

True but I'd need a motorcycle license for that and the last time I tried to get one in NY I got kicked out of the pre licensing course for almost mowing down the instructor, um a few times. I can't deal with shifting ( can't drive a standard ) LOL. I learned when you let go of the hand controls it is NOT like letting go of the safety on a lawn mower, you do NOT stop. Woops. If I were ever able to get that license though I'd just get a motorcycle and not a scooter since my dream bike is a Hyabusa. I love they way they look, I just wish they made them smaller. I don't need 1,300cc

LOL! I wear gloves I don't get all greasy Ya I'm pretty smart, but its just that I like to know how to fix my own things. I grew up in a construction family so I can pretty much build, fix or rig anything to work but I'm new to fixing a scooter on my own. In a place where they charge about $35 for just an oil change on a 50cc scooter at the dealerships.. well... ya I'll fix my own thanks. $35 for less than a qt of oil and wiping out the same filter. Sheesh, the socket wrench set to do my own was less than that

Its my first time doing a valve adjust. I want to check it and adjust it if need be. I looked up a video on youtube for how to do it. Im on my 2nd scooter and it has 102 miles on it. When I start it w the electric start button I have to push it 2-3 times for it to start and stay started unless I give it gas when I start it (which I dont think u are supposed to have to do) Anyway.. This video says .05mm for the feeler gauge for the valves. Ive heard .04 and .06 elsewhere and on another scooter board for Chinese scooters (like mine - 50cc) it says .004 etc.. How do know what size to use? The manual is of no use to me as its in gibberish. Thanks.
