Ok I pulled my starter . question : There is supposed to be no connectivity with the black cable to the grounded starter outerbody correct till power is applied via the solenoid ? I checked for connectivity on the starter and found it went right to the solenoid tip from the starters body will .

Ok . I just checked for connectivity on the red ( positive voltage) primary wire that goes to the soleniod from the battery . It checked out ok. I did a quick voltage check from the red positive solenoid end to negitive frame ground . That checked out at 12.8V DC . That means I do have positive voltage connected to the solenoid on the red end from the battery. Now what next ? Where does the opposite end of the black solenoid go to ? Starter motor ? ???will

Did that already! No spin when red connected to black. ! Nothing voltagewise is getting through the red cable !! No power on red cable means scoots not going to start with starter no matter what I try to do til that power is restored to it .

This afternoon I decided to review my situation again with the issues keeping my scoot from starting . My main conclusion after looking at the data I have is this: I am not getting any voltage into the main red wire for the starter solenoid to do its job. The solenoids doing its job by clicking as the starter button is pressed. However there is zero voltage coming thru the red cable for it to switch over to the black cable to start my engine. I need to figure out where that red wire goes to the front of my scooters wiring loom and see whats causing (what I think is) a short . I put my battery back in after having it on the charger all day. It read 13.10vDC . After 3 multi click attempts with the starter button it dropped the battery down by 1/10th of a volt on each attempt. It read 12.79vDc when I finished up for the day. Where does that redwire come from and if needed how do I rewire it if needed to get around this issue I have . Any input from the big scoot gurus on this would be greatlly appreciated !! Bill ;D

Alley I jumped the terminals on my solenoid and nothing happened and did that yesterday evening ! Today Bashan ( Rich) had me take the black wire off the solenoid , connect my positive connector from my voltage meter and ground the negitve meter end . I pushed my start button as told and I had voltage breifly 1 second then nothing else when holding the start button down further. My kickstart's non available at this time. . . Oy ! Bill

what could be causing such a drain on my battery ? I don't have an alarm system. headlight ? I have a new stator assy installed . It almost doubled my voltage coming from the stator compared to my old stator . Should I replace the voltage regulator ? Battery ?My battery is just over 1 year old now and went through last winter outside . Maybe its time to replace it ?? I think I better put my kickstartback in just in case !! I put the battery back on the charger and is charged . Now to put the d@$n thing back in. Bill C.

Might help to take it off the kickstand and onto the centerstand . I need to see if that was the main issue in the first place. Stator had to be replaced eitherway . Will keep you posted !Always seems the littlilist things cause the biggest headaches !

Ok . New stator is in. I am getting just over 53V AC at where the black red goes into the CDI ( Compared to the 27vAC with the old stator) . I have now replaced with new components both the stator and the CDI . With either coil assy I currently have , I am still not getting any spark . Do I need to get a new replacement coil ? . Any help is and has been much appreciated !! Bill C.
