Carb Trick

Try removing the entire seat assy for better access to your carb . There should only be 4 retaining 10mm bolts . That is the best way for me. Will

Well , My new starter came in todays mail .I put it in . Less than half a second on the start button got 'er going !! I am still a tad noisy but runs !! The only issue is the d@#$ chinameter ! speed shows nothing. Replace speedo cable ? connection at wheel ? Speedo entrely ? digital speedo ? Will

No wonder I was having the issues with it ! It's been a "great" learning experience for me. Now I understand why keeping a stick or two of C4 handy helps when dealing with a scooter that isn't behaving itself ! (bad attempt at explosive humor) . will

I have started the disection of the starter . So far I have stripped 2 retaining screws . Where the black wire goes into the starter itself, I was able to get those 2 screws out ok. When the conecting tab was removed, the inside wire was covered completely in oil and cracked and bare. Pictures will be posted later. Any suggestions for a good screw removal tool ? Bill C.

I think I finally found what I was looking for . It's the starter ! Question , Shouldn't the gear end be spinning freely right away when voltage is appied ( 10 volt test supply)and not grindng and trying to move or freezing up entirely ( shutting the circut down in the process) when voltage is applied? (Those old AT power supplys sure come in handy .Even if they are only 20+ years old !! :-) )
