Thanks fellas! Ha, cyborg , if I wad this thing, I'd be inclined to fly up there for that butt kicking ! richardv , when I had it many years ago, it lasted as long as my DL, 4 years or longer if you didn't have any accidents or tickets. I havent had to retest for my DL now, in 12 years, maybe longer! Nowadays, I'm not sure how it works. But, evidently, when you apply nowadays for the M1, you have to do both tests. AND they re-took my picture so, that tells me that it may last as long as a DL term if they are going to combine the license onto one photo card. If I were to break down pretty close, I'll walk it. Fortunately, my insurance covers me for roadside up to 10 miles, included with State Farm. But, I also have AAA's R.A. for my truck and looked into if they had R.A. for cycles and they DO so, I bought it for $37 per year. 100 miles tow 4 x's a year, too! I'm sure, I won't be going that far but I'm also sure that I'll want to go further than 10 ! Okay, time to prepare ! GOTTA SCOOOOOOT ! WOOHOO!

Hi there, homegrown ! I couldn't pass up a $75 scooter found it in terribly rusted and salt corroded shape, and have had massive amounts of help in here over the last 5 mos and have a near new scoot now! Right off the bat, I'd say you ought to post up all the pertinent info (Make, Model, engine etc;). I'm no expert at anything so, I'll let our local experts chime in. This should be an interesting project to watch, should the mission be accepted.

I knew that I would pass but wasn't sure how well I would do. I had to take the DL test alongside the M1 written. I missed one on each and on the one I missed on the M1 test, knew right away as I clicked "submit" that I had misread the question, lol! " NO, WAIT! Awwww! " but it left the screen, lol! I answered about "Crossing a railroad track" rather than a "Grated surface". Who wants a perfect score anyway?! Neener, neener! So, the planets have aligned ! I've had a heck of a week and a half clearing out some chores n' business , to free up for "Test day" and "First ride day" but, tomorrow (Today after sunrise, technically) will be my first ride out of the driveway, lol ! I've felt like an anxious little kid that isn't allowed to go past the sidewalk line at the end of the drive and watching the big kids ride freely! I'll probably stick close to my neighborhood for a while till I gain confidence in the integrity of the scoot so, still kinda "On restriction" haha). Right now, I'm trying to decide how to rig up my helmet cam. I ended up buying the ION Air Pro 2. It has a bunch of accessory mountings but from what I have heard (After purchasing, wouldn't ya know), the gyro in it is only for vertical or direct opposite (upside down), no sideways gyro , yuck. I was hoping not to have to mount it ATOP my helmet but on the side. I may have to rig a way. So anyway, YAY ME! I get to RIDE now!

Thank you for going into it all for me! That's exactly the info that I needed . I wouldn't have asked you to give me all of that but I'm sure glad that ya did! Not overwhelming at all. "...Wind hits the camera and blows your head backwards..." I got quite the humorous cartoon visual of this! Lol! Regarding the mic, while looking around and reading, I couldn't figure out how mic's could actually pick up the user voice while filtering wind noise so, it perplexed me as to why I dont see external mic's and ports for them in more models. Whichever I do choose, it seems that it may be best to choose one that can use an external mic and mount it inside my helmet. That'll be cute, getting two mics into my helmet. One for intercom and one for the camera, lol! I wonder if I'll run into any feedback issues or anything like that. I've got my new homework, it seems ! I thank you again, rosiemoto . I sure appreciate the info!

Ahhhh, ok! I forget that not every state has the helmet law as we do . Lol, ...train your face.... OH! So, I accidentally chose a good chin mountin' helmet, NICE! So, your SJ4000 mounts in either position, then ? Briefly, what would you say are the advantages/disadvantages that you would say I should think of, if you don't mind? You are the first person that I have the opportunity to ask and , considering your experience with it for your blogging , your a great choice!

OH! It IS running well, rosiemoto ! So far, anyway. Without being able to go out to really road test it Ok, yes, I saw a review on the SJ10 this morning and someone suggested looking at the SJ4000. I do already have a 10,000 mah power bank so, I'm set there! Thanks, for the input. I have always thought that your setup was doing a good job. You've got yourself all dialed in there! In your vid, you were surprised that someone had a full faced helmet. I just got mine and it is full face. In California, there's traffic everywhere and crazy aggressive drivers so, can't be too careful here My "Storm-Trooper" gear, lol! About those peeps staring, that's what I'd do, smile or wave. I was thinking I'd learn a joke per day to tell peeps that I spend time with in traffic I Hope I follow through on that !

Will do richardv ! rosiemoto , I'm glad that you mentioned that. I am looking at getting a bluetooth intercom setup for my helmet and was wondering if there are any decent but affordable helmet cams or, if worthy ones are generally , pricey ? I must say that, in the driveway, I was really "Jonesing" to be able to just take flight over the sidewalk and get out onto the street ! I did grin as I heard the Counteract beads packets disperse in the tires. It's a shame to be going that slow, without a choice, lol! I had my endorsement MANY years ago as, I used to own a motorcycle. I had no worry that I can get one since I've obtained one before. But what I should have anticipated and planned for is the long wait time for appointments at the DMV in Cali, for sure ! I'm quite glad that you enjoyed that, Alleyoop !

My Koso replacement mirrors finally came and work out well and the brake rebuild has held up without leaking. I've been busy with my sisters wedding party this week but today I got the correct air pressure in the tires and took it for a mini ride up and down the parking lot, and she did great! Now for insurance and my endorsement!

Yessir. The rear have pads that came too thick and I ground them down a bit but they drag a little. My first rides will only be in my long apartment driveway, to test out those things.
