My socket for my rear turn signal on my Tao tao atm50 just kind of fell apart. Can I get a new socket and splice it onto the wires on the existing rear light assembly? Is this a common socket? Or do I have to buy a whole new assembly

It looks like it is coming from the valve cover. I'll run by the scooter shop on Tuesday. I need a new shroud gasket too while I'm there. A head wouldn't hurt too. At least this gives me the opportunity to clean up my wiring and glue the broken plastic

I guess tomorrow I can start it briefly without the shroud and see what comes out. I did notice that there was oil on the inner left side of the shroud.

I need a head with the 69mm valves or a standard one (I'll just need to get different rocker arms)
Who's got one?

So the leak seems to be up by the exhaust.
I do need a new head. I've had a stripped stud hole there for a while I may as well just replace it. Anyone have a spare 139qmb head with the 69mm valves they can sell me?

Missouri St. Louis to be exact. We don't exactly fit in with Missouri but would rather not be associated with Illinois so we just kind of stay to ourselves

We have bible thumpers trying to run our state. I have no use for any of that nonsense so we are in the same boat really. But that's for another topic as well.
A dude who lives a block over rides a symba. It's pretty sweet. I Don't know where he got it.

I've found I can get about anything I want for $1200 - 80's Hondas, used kymco and the occasional buddy. I'd love a sym symba but it seems it's discontinued. We must not have an sym distributor around here because I don't see them much. For now I'll look into fixing my chineese junk without putting any money into it.

I've been standing up for chineese scooters but I think this one has beaten me. There is a yamaha jog on cl. I hear those are great stock. Plenty of kymco Scoots too. I just have to be patient aND save my money

I may just say the hell with it and save up for a honda on or maybe a puch moped. Those mopeds are so easy to work on. I enjoy riding my scooter but I know it's junk even for a chineese scooter. The plastic is cracked all over and it's just plain ugly. Maybe I'll feel better tomorrow but tonight I feel like chucking it into the river.

Ugh. This thing always leaked but now it's blowing oil out of the bottom of the engine. Did I blow a gasket? I hit a pothole today and my engine died at a stop sign. I pushed it home (thankfully I wasn't far ) I looked around, checked the valves buttoned her back up and she started. I put my hand under the engine and it was getting covered in oil. What do you think it is?

Has anyone used the Vermont loophole when buying a scooter without a title? If I understand correctly you don't need a title for anything under 300cc or over 30 years old. You don't even need to be a Vermont resident. You just pay a fee and you have Vermont plates then you can transfer the plates to your state.
This may just be an urban myth. I dunno. I'm looking at some junk 150cc bikes to fix up and some don't have titles. I have plenty of cop friends who can run the vin to see if it's hot.
I could just save my money and get a good titled bike but, for me at least, half the fun of this hobby is wrenching and bringing something back from the dead
Thanks
