I acquired a qt50 recently without a headlamp installed. The bike has no spark. Is the lack of a connection at the headlamp the culprit?

Not worth it unless it's a ruckus or a clone. Those guys do it all the time. On your garden variety gy6, it's gonna take a lot of fabrication. There may have been someone working on an adapter a few years back but it was priced over $300.

I'm working on an 86 honda spree and it's giving me fits. I was able to kick start it last week but after that, nothing.
I have a new battery. And the horn and the brake lights worked - note the past tense
It didnt come with turn signals so I got some from ebay. I plugged one in and it worked. I plugged the second one in and it worked but the other one didnt. Every time I switched the key on the scoot made a loud noise like it was coming from the flasher relay. Now I have no power at all. I figured I blew a fuse but I changed it and it still has no juice. Would a bad turn signal relay cause that? Or is the problem deeper?

Just to wrap up this thread, I didn't feel like messing with a bike that I couldn't ride and even if I pour lots of money into it I still have a chineese scooter. I traded it last week for a honda spree that I hope to fix up and sell in order to buy something else.
And the cycle continues

I think it wasn't grounded because I tried it again this time insuring a proper ground and I haven't poped a fuse since. I'm getting no suction between the petcock and the carb so I have to look at that next. Since my head doesn't have PAIR I blocked off a nipple at the petcock and one on the intake. But I'm not 100% I did it right

I'm futzing around with the xingyue ita 150 again and I was able to get it to kick over with starting fluid.
Then it blew a fuse.
Next to the ground battery connect there is a bare green wire I assume gets grounded to the frame, is that a correct assumption?

I'm as guilty of that as anyone. If I ask a question I ask it on multiple boards. Though most of the same people are on all the same boards. All the forums seem quieter now

That guy was quick with an answer and knew everything about scooters. He was the first person to reply to my many stupid questions and got me riding. He was kind of like my Elmer of scootering. I hope all is well with him.

Yep. exhaust is at the wrong angle. Dangit. Is there flex pipe that fits these exhausts?

Update!
I have the engine put together. Everything fits so far. Tomorrow I'm putting the shroud on and attempting to put the exhaust on. The late Bluefront had an issue when he changed heads, but it's nothing a trip to a welding shop won't fix. I see from the plumbing on the scoot that the original head had the pair system. My replacement head does not. I hope that won't cause trouble when I get it inspected. I don't want to be riding dirty. Though I don't think the police around here care about a middle age guy on a scooter going 40 when they have gangs, robberies and general unrest around here. We have a street that goes from south to north across the whole city limits that is the main drag for those guys on the motorcycles that do wheelies and other dangerous stuff. None of these bikes have plates that I can see. And it's not like they are on some back road. This street goes right by Busch Stadium. If the fuzz haven't put the kibosh on them, then I'm good. I still want to be legal

Vroom seems to be the dealer. From what I can tell there was a guy in southern illinois who sold scooters under his own name.
I had an ovation uke once. Hated the round back. I just couldn't hold it.

One thing that has me concerned is the cam chain length. My donor engine has a p engine code. Some have said that means it's a taller head. I'd rather not split the case to swap the chain. I guess if that situation presents itself I can look for a drum brake rear wheel and swap the whole kit and kaboodle. If there's anything I've learned from this project is that you can't necessarily trust engine codes.
