Can't afford one, but it wouldn't help. I'm pinching something in my back that destroys my legs, can't do squat. If they can fix that, then I could still ride my old Harley too. As it is, I can hardy straddle the scooter, and then I can't lift my legs. Sucks.

Cool, thanks! I'll investigate further once I recover from this! I have back/hip/leg issues which is why I have a problem with the back brake when I'm stopped. The whole reason I got rid of the Harley and got the scooter, and I'm not much better off. Supposed to see a spine doctor sometime soon, hope he can fix me, then I can fix my scooter!

Ok, this is odd. On the front brake switch there are two wires, a black and a green. At the volume switch there is a plug with black and green wires that is just hanging out will-nilly. When I put the meter on the green wire at the brake, I have continuity at both the black and green wire of that little plug. The black wire at the brake switch does nothing. I don't know what they have to do with each other, but it's strange.

When I start it with the rear brake, the light does the same thing, so I guess it's ok. I'm just trying to get the covers off!

Thanks, I'll look into it. Should the headlight go out, or do I have a hornets nest hear?

Yes, the brake lights come on using the front brake and the rear. When I hold the front brake and hit the starter button, the headlight goes out. I would expect that is correct to divert the poser to the starter, but it doesn't do anything else.

Thanks! It won't start with the front brake on.

On my Helix clone, I have to raise the kick stand, that's ok, but then I have to push on the rear brake to start it. I would like to disable that safety switch, anyone know an easy way to do that?

I'm in need of a backrest for my scooter. I've found the Ultimate $199 thing, but I'm hoping I can get something cheaper than that. If I take my seat to a scooter shop, can they fix me up for a reasonable price? Any other suggestions? Thanks.

As for the oil indicator and that little slot under it, I found this:
Note that the 80-125-150-250 Honda's have a small window in the speedometer. The window changes color from green to red every 1000 miles. It's to remind you to change the oil. After you change it, just place the key into the slot on the lower left side instrument panel and push. This will reset the indicator back to green.

Wow! Great info and quick, thanks! I don't see an oil reset button. there is some kind of slot in the dash that goes somewhere and does something, I have no idea. The seller said the fan worked, but he was trying to sell me something for too much money, so..... I know how to troubleshoot the fuel gauge, but getting at it is a bit different. I did find a service manual online for a Helix so I have some instruction. I'll get the cover off the fuel tank and have a look at the sender. As for the chatter, there is a brand new belt in the trunk. I have to get the side cover off and try to see what's going on, if anything. Like I said, this thing doesn't look hardly used. I don't know why. the guy I got it from had two others that were beat to crap, things falling off and stuff held on with bungee cords. All I can figure is he got a deal on it and bought it for a flip and doubled his money. Thanks again for your response!

Howdy all! After riding my old Harley forever, the time has come when arthritis ended my Harley days. So I ran out and bought a used scooter. It's a 2005 CF Moto Voyager 250cc, a clone of the Honda Elite 250cc. It's a new experience with the cv 6 and all. So I'm just learning about these things. I'm pretty sure I rushed into this thing without any knowledge and paid too much, but that's ok, I've always paid for my education.
So now the questions. This thing only has 2100 miles on it and doesn't look like it's been used much. I'm concerned about overheating since I'm in Florida. I've seen no indication of overheating, the coolant looks good and the proper level. Maybe I'm just paranoid. 2nd question, the oil indicator showed mostly green until yesterday and now it's mostly red. I checked the level and it looks like someone thought you should screw the stick in, so it was a little low. I topped it off and the indicator still shows mostly red. Are these things just a little finicky? Or should I be looking for something gone amiss. 3rd question. When I first take off, there is a momentary chatter, feels like the belt might be slipping. Once I get rolling it's fine. Is this normal? I'm 225lbs, so I'm wondering if maybe it just takes a little work to get my fat butt moving along. And last, the fuel gauge doesn't work, though I saw it work once for a couple seconds then went dead again. I suspect a connection somewhere, but unlike my Harley, nothing on this thing is easy to get at!
Thanks for any help you can give me.
