M License since 1967. Biggest reason to swap engine is economy of engine change, if possible Gave 1500 bucks for wildfire new , dont think it is a bad bike based on 44 years of motorcycles and remembering back in the day, what we did then. Value of wildfire right now $500.00 This bike handles very well, brakes are great ride is great. Also I think with all the bikes out there, unless you have bucks to buy Jap, I might buy a pig in a poke that is not as good as what I have simply to get more engine. I cant justify the 2-3 grand needed for what I will buy next, so back to the good old days of modifying. Now maby you understand the post to go to a 125 drivetrain?
I bought small because when we bought the mopeds, (hers is a 3 wheel Ice Bear), we lived in town and level put put type playing. Now we moved to the farm in the mountains and I ride the hills. 13-17 MPH (GPS) 20 to 25 indicated does not cut it with traffic, and a 45 MPH speed limit. 30 MPH would be better. Brakes are great suspension very good handeling great. I have also allready done light upgrades, battery storage upgrade. Main thing is I like this little bike

Have a 50 large frame Wildfire. Seems to me modding it will result in crank bearings failing early in life. Is there a complete drivetrain available out there in Moped land that I can swap and make this thing run faster and more dependable? Seat of pants says sell it get a bigger moped. Welcome to Scooter Doc, 89newbie. There are 80cc engine assemblies available which might bolt right into your scoot. I have seen them for about $400. It all depends on what you are looking for in performance. The 139QMB engine will handle a big bore kit up to 72cc (commonly called an 80cc upgrade kit) without much drama. These engines commonly appear as 60cc (44mm bore) in other countries with some sneaking in as 49cc into this country. The 49cc versions are actually downsized to meet the US requirements for mopeds, so they are really designed to be able to withstand some modest upgrades. Some scoot modders are able to get 45 to 50 mph as long as they don't go excessively long distances at WOT. 45 to 50 mph is well into the redline which can be bad for the bearings as well as valves and pistons. The big bore kit along with some carb and variator tuning will give the most bang for your money. How do I find out the series of the engine? Wildfire does not return calls! I am not at all opposed to modding. I am opposed to building on a weak bottom end. Barrell head piston, lol no problem. I owned the third 500 Suzuki 2 stroke made and modded the hell out of it, dreamed up some backyard stuff the local shop submitted to Suzuki way back in the day, er 1969. I have played with the wildfire, modified a few things but it just needs a little more umph. It would be easier to talk to God than get a straight answer from wildfire! Another reason to think bigger engine is electrical output, or do 50'S and 80's or 125's have the same limited electrical capacity? Im thinking that since the lights suck its something that can not be adressed. |

Question since you do locks. I have a Wildfire and an other Wildfire owner wanted to try his key on mine. He had been able to onlock and start three other Wildfires. It would not unlock mine. Are these locks that generic?

Light sechrity for quick trips around home. Carry large cable bonded ends and Big Master. I always park under lights and I always secure it to a tree, at the grocery I wrap cable around bars of grocery cart rack. I run the cable thru both wheels. I also install another master in the front wheel. If I am going somewhere that is questionable, the heavy chain goes along and is used in place of the cable.

Wanna hear slow, needed important doccument from Pa. State, it had to be shipped special for me to get it next day for 39.00. Long story short two weeks, ( it had to go to Atlanta to get to Washington D.C. to get out to me from Philly)  ? |
