A 250cc (Linhai) Road Queen for $1052 delivered which includes the $2 flat rate shipping? Since the company is in Malaysia, I am suspicious about the $2 shipping to Massachusetts. However, they accept Paypal. Anyone willing to place an order? I put a message into them got a reply, asked another question no reply. Also the message says bank transfer or money gram, I replied need invoice number for paypal no reply yet. tried the phone number did not connect

Not to rain on your idea of a Chinese 250 but if I may refer to your original post: May be accepting job 67 miles away, thats one way,
If we do the math that's 134 miles a day, 670 miles a week, 2680 miles a month. That's some pretty heavy mileage, for anything. If you have your heart set on a scooter, and a 250 to boot, I would still keep my eye open for something Japanese, Korean or Taiwanese in the used scooter market. You'll be racking up some pretty serious mileage in no time flat and will need a good tool for the job. Maybe even a Piaggio BV 250 if you could find one at a decent price. I just got rid of a Road King. The idea of having all that weight the heat in the summer is not me. I dont want to straddle an engine. As for other rides there is A 2003 Mustang Mach One, A Dodge Dakota A Toyota Corolla If its too challenging I can take the 28 foot Motorhome and rest along the way. ;D Also if the job is worth having Ill move closer.Hey thanks you made me realize I can kill two birds with one stone leave the motorhome there and stay overnight!!( But Ill miss the dogs and horses and the coyotees and the cows mooing, thanks great idea!!

This is a rant! Since Some have inquired on my other post here it is in detail. Virginia has changed moped laws forcing us to register as motorcycles. They have done this as per clerk at motor vehicles in two steps. The first is if bike comes with a speedometer that is capable of registering over 30 mph it is a motorcycle. 2. If ridden on any road that has a posted speed of over 35 mph it has to be registered, inspected insured and tagged motorcycle.Resulting costs .1. register and state tag. $90 to $100 I will use $95 Local tag $10.00 Total $105. Insurance Average $120 total now $225. State inspection $18.00, total now $243.00. Next year, local personal property tax on bike= 5% of NADA Motorcycle, and they use retail, which is always high, tag $10.00 (current price), State tag $25, inspection, current $18.00 Insurance once again using $120.00 to take subsequent year to $173,before tax lets guess 30 bucks so resultant is over $200.00 each year. At $4.00/gallon thats = 50 gallons of fuel. Now further facts on this area. Many people bought mopeds to go to work at low paying jobs or to avoid taxi fees because they dont have the money, cannot get a regular job because of whatever, and live hand to mouth doing side work type things or on some form of assistance. Most bikes are bought on lay away. Many people ride bicycles but the Cops enforce the light stuff and ticket bicycle riders that dont comply at night. ( Only differance between the cops here and cons is less tatoo's). Simply put many folks can not afford any thing else. I have a frienf that bought his Wildfire to go to his second job 22 miles away, but he lost the job now because the road has 45 & 55 MPH speed limits and he is so strapped he canot do the registration.

Maby im nuts but I dont see that much delta between 250 and 300. When the 500 is available Ill look at them but for now Im going 250 water cooled. (Because Va has made 50 cc about illegal I started looking). Settled out on 250 liquid cooled. Considerations, mountain roads and gravel (300 cc seems to like 10 inch rear tire), which leaves me uneasy. Also 8 C.M. shorter wheelbase on 250 will be better in the good paved turns and the 13 inch tires will handle gravel and dirt better. Pay load on shorter bike is 30 lb more than the bigger one. Sent E-mail to Scrappy Dog about parts, no problem. Other than running my big fat mouth I think what I am saying is 250 & 300 are going to be close on Hi-way, both run with traffic. Fuel consumption 250 less than 300 by 8MPG. Initioal Dollar Delta, about a $1000.00 bucks. Loss with 250, big wind diverting faring, Im a windshield guy anyway. Last Harley Road King had windshield that will do.

Once I got the intial pdi problems out of the way by getting George to fine tune my bike, I really like my Roketa 54B 257cc bike. It has a linhai yamaha clone engine and I have had no problems with it. It is a heavier bike (almost 400 lbs net weight) It has enough power to do highways with ease and even though I am still in the break-in stage, I am averaging 80 miles per gallon. That is a combination of short spirt driving and driving 20 miles to and from work with 4 lane roads doing about 55 to 60. (speed limit). I like it. I like the windshield which does an amazing job of keeping most of the wind off of you (you still get wind, just not as strong) so you don't tire as quickly. I agree with jr. The 54B for me, has been a positive experience (of course, I only have 200 miles on it. Next week, I am going to do an oil change and crank case oil change. Thanks for the response.

Need feedback on bigger bikes. May be accepting job 67 miles away, thats one way, and will need bigger bike, and need the job. Dont need to be locked into 25 MPG car for daily commute. Most of the 250 to 300 bikes look the same to me. Any comments will help. (Move is not the ans. I love the farm, dogs love farm, wife loves the farm, neighbors horses love the carrots and apples I feed them rofl).

No problems with spring arriving here. 96 was the high sunday. We're having problems getting moisture of any kind here. Record highs, no moisture, and high winds = wildfires. Thats been our biggest problem. Wildfires shhhh we had the rich guy that owns the big place further up on the mountain have his wood burner(spark away from him) and burned up 3000 acres!

Ok here is a question. Have what measures to be a shortcase engine, measuring the size of the belt cover, have 12 inch tires.

Carb?

It could be plugged or it could be capped. If it is capped, then there is an adjuster screw under it. Need to drill a small hole in the cap and pull it out with something hooked. If it is plugged then I would buy a new carb... but if you are running way lean adjust the throttle needle. Move the c-clip a slot or two toward the point...or put a small washer under the needle on the 'non-adjustable' needles. The aluminum pop-rivet washers work very well... B]This is what I found pulling the needle. There was a slight little fold in the flange of the thin rubber top of the thinggie. Three groves snap ring on center. dropped ring to bottom then took some gas soaked the rubber thingie a while to get it good and wet and carefully and slowly resealed it br positioning properly and rubbed around and around with index finger. Once it looked uniform I installed the spring and top. Hit the start and instant start, rode it 10 miles. Top end better hills and I mean hills are now 4-5 MPH faster ( chinometer) Stopped several times and let it idle and the rpm fluctuations are gone, must have been that little bubble. Went to the barn late last night started it and it did what it was supposed to, no rpm up and down, left it run and all good. Started it this morning let it idle for 20 minutes still all good. Almosr forgot hesitation is gone. Now Im gonna tear the muffler apart and see whats up in there, LOL Mrs Newbie says Im a 9 year old with this thing rofl.
