Riding at full speed or close to it for 5 minutes or more will cause my scooter to stall out. If I shut down the throttle, I will usually get a backfire, after a second or two I can usually resume speed for a short time. Otherwise the scooter runs well and as long as I don't do prolonged high speed running. I am assuming that it is a fuel starvation problem, but I haven't figured out a solution.
The back story is I bought this 2006 Verucci 150. It was not running when I bought it. Years ago I worked as a motorcycle mechanic, so I am not clueless. Long story short, I cleaned up the carburetor /fuel system, put in a new vacuum petcock and fuel lines, new spark plug, set the valves, New variator, new Kevlar belt and finally a performance CDI and performance coil. I also drilled a small hole in the gas cap.
Any thoughts on what I can do to eliminate the stalling Problem? Thanks Randy

randyjaco It's a Verucci 150. I am looking for a cheap way out. I only paid $200 for the scooter, so I'm not going to break the bank on a seat. I couldn't find anything on on the Web.

My butt hurts 😉 Does anybody make a more comfortable seat for a scooter? The seat on my scooter visually is in good shape, but it is 10 years old and has lost a lot of its cushioning abilities. Does someone make a gel type pad that can be added to a scooter seat? Randy

Are you sure that you are setting them at Top Dead Center? Are you able recheck them prior to readjusting them to see if they are keeping the setting?

Thanks guys, I figured it out. It was the carburetor. A tiny piece of something was lodged in the main jet. When I looked at the jet in the light the hole was not round. I ran a #55 drill bit through it, put it all back together and problem solved ☺️ Randy

They were adjusted about a week ago. I bought this about 2 weeks ago. It was non-running. I cleaned out the fuel system/carb, set the valves, checked/replaced questionable hoses, redid brakes, new battery, replaced rollers and belt, changed fluids, checked exhaust system. I have since put about 200 miles on it. I cranked it yesterday and headed down the street and the problem started? I have a good amount of motorcycle experience. This is my first Chinese scooter.
Thanks Randy

I have a Verucci 150,which has been running OK. It starts quickly and runs smoothly. But when I twist the throttle the engine bawgs down. The max speed is a measly 26mph. The spark plug indicates it is running a little rich, but is properly gapped and clean. The plug is firing with a nice blue spark. I am getting good fuel flow to the carburetor. The fuel is fresh. The wiring is tight no evidence of grounding out. What am I missing?
