Seriously? You wouldn't pull a bunch of free spinning gears at speeds they're designed for?
Maybe you missed this on the post I won't ever delete.
The clutch only engages when the engine spins and forces out the engagement arms.
Or did I have to go into more detail. The engine engages the clutch only when the engine is running, the variator rollers move out causing the variator to engage and spin the belt which causes the clutch arms to engage with the bell housing and move the scooter. Without the engine running the axle spins because of the wheel spinning. The axle also has a gear inside, that engages with an intermediate shaft gear that has another gear on it that spins the transmission shaft which the bell housing is on. If the scooter is being towed those gears, made of hardened steel, spin on shafts on ball bearings and yes, spin through oil seals totally designed for the job. Those seals neither know nor care why they're spinning only that there's lubricant that keeps seals, shafts, gears and bearing oiled.
But I should have realized you didn't know that and described it to you since I know more than you do.
Want to know how I know? Because I took a Honda Big Ruckus apart when the transmission shaft bearing failed and got to see the whole inside of a scooter gear box.

Seriously Luke. When the rear wheel spins only the bell housing spins. The clutch only engages when the engine spins and forces out the engagement arms. Since most Chinese 250s are clones of Honda or Yamaha designs I think the hardened steel gears can take a little 65 mph spinning. Well maybe the Honda designs can. The jury is still out on those Yamaha transmissions. You know how much work it takes to keep them going.

As you can see below I've updated my miles on the Chinese fleet. Out of curiosity I added them up and guess what? 20,230 total miles on the three. Now, yes, I don't have anybody in the 10,000 mile club....yet but it puts the knock on all things Chinese in focus. I've heard all the jibes. "Just wait, after 18 months it will be scrap." "You'll get a mile for every dollar you spend." This one is my favorite. "Oh sure it's cheap, but where will you get parts?"
If my China fleet is only supposed to last a mile per dollar, I owe somebody $17,000.00.
My oldest China bike is six years old, the youngest is five. I'm about four and a half years past the expiration date.
So far I've bought parts from three different places, had to wait all of three days, max, for delivery with the quickest arriving in forty-six hours from Florida.
You want to know my conclusion in all of this? Jack said something that should have hit a few people right between the eyes. "I can't believe that I got the cream of the crop" or words to that effect. Here's what it means. If you ride a Chinese scooter like a maniac, it will blow up. If you change your oil every 5,000 miles, it will blow up. These things need care and attention, then again most two wheeled creatures do. I didn't get to 20,000 miles on a trailer and I didn't ride like the scooters were race bikes either. I rode them like they were $1200 scooters, not $5000 Vespas.

Yes, that's right Luke, you own the very best personal watercraft on the road. Do I have to show you the recall for leaking fuel pumps-again? Nah. I've done it enough, you can ignore it. Just make sure you have Comp and Collision to cover the burn damage. I always know when I'm getting to someone when their replies get long and rambling. It's a psychological thing. You mean it moves side to side or the handlebar ends pivot up and down? I can see it having some slack but it shouldn't make slow speed maneuvers difficult.

Nothing ELSE!!!!! They replaced one Morph with another so it took two to make the trip. Plus I wouldn't call the evaluation of it flattering. No ground clearance, "A cross between a chopper and a Jet ski" and out of its element on anything but flat, straight roads. I can get that kind of performance for thousands less and lest you forget Jack made a similar trip to Texas on a single Roketa 250B. Bad example Luke.

I started this with a review shortly after I bought Rocket and its stablemate. Read the raves, questions about where to buy one and defense by owners. The comments read from bottom to top. This person, TWADDY38, is the 70+ year old woman I've mentioned before. I look through all the online dealers from time to time. Their selection of 250 scooters has dwindled to a select few. I doubt they're trimming their selection to cut down on models available by choice. I'm guessing that all the formerly available inventory is selling out. Where many had six or seven 250 scooters in their lineup now I'm seeing two or three. If the scooters were so horrible they would have a backlog.

There's the "Importer factor" again. My 2008 Bashan has good electrics (so far) and it would have been perfect except for a bad exhaust pipe. I heard all the Chinese junk stories before I bought it. After I got it together I sat looking at it and marveled at its strengths. Cast aluminum wheels, remote seat opening, a fuel gauge. My W650 Kawasaki had none of those things.
Let's move on to Rocket if you want comparisons. It's totally better than Luke's or any brand name scooter. Any one. Vespa, Aprilia, Piaggio. Any of them. 50 mph+ out of a bone stock engine. Handling and ride like a brand name motorcycle. It starts, runs and goes, each time, every time and I don't have to rebuild the variator and clutch like so many Japanese scooter owners.
If my CF Moto hadn't broken an easily replaced transmission shaft, available from everyone, I'd be harping on how good it is too. Even at that, and I just haven't posted it, it has 8,400 miles on it. All my Chinese bikes are flaunting all the myths. They run, they last (If I don't screw up and crack cylinder heads) and get better gas mileage than anything out of Japan, Inc.
