It might be different in your case, but my headlight quit working because the headlight relay burned out. I would put a new relay in, and it would last a few days. I finally just removed the relay, and jumpered DC over to the headlight wire. Has been working that way for 1200 miles now.

I have been watching the mpg pretty close on my new gy6 150. I only weigh 160 pounds, and only ride 35-40 mph. I usually get around 90 mph, depending how hard I crowd it.

My headlight relay burned out, resulting in no headlight. I just jumper from 12v dc to headlight wire connection in the socket where the relay plugs in. Is working that way.

It is always exciting to get another bike. I am 87 years old, and have owned 101 bikes, from 50cc to Harleys. I used to enjoy finding a bike in the ads, up to 100 miles away or so, assess it over the phone - go buy it, and ride it home. Now that is suspense, ha. I usually made it. But, if you have one, and get to know it, and service it well - sometimes it is better than one you will buy - new or used. I put over 5K miles on a Chinese 50cc scooter, and only changed a drive belt. The brake pads were still pretty good. I don't know why yours wore so fast. I have enjoyed buying, riding, and reselling. I have been fortunate, by looking a used one over good. If there was a problem, I would fix it and get it where I could trust it. Just like cars, there are lemons, so when you buy another new one, it might not be as good as the last. Sure is fun to gamble though. I like my 2022 model Razor 150cc - but now it has burned out 3 headlight relays in 200 miles. In several years, I never had one burn out on one new scooter or 2 used ones. Sometimes you have to get the bugs out of them. Enjoy them, which ever way you go.

My Red Fox Razor burned out 3 headlight relays in 200 miles For 1000 miles now, I have just used a jumper wire in the socket where the relay plugged in, between the 12v dc socket, to the purple headlight wire socket. The headlight is doing okay, but maybe it could be brighter by using higher ac current from the stator. I was wondering why the yellow stator wire is there, and if that is what caused the relays to burn out. Good luck.

My Red Fox 150 burned out 3 headlight relays in 200 miles. Each time I lost my headlight. Now I just use a jumper wire. Hope you find your problem.

I had a little 50cc Honda 2 cycle scooter in the late nineties. After riding it 3K miles, It got real doggy, so put rings in it. That didn't help a whole lot. Bought a 50cc 4 stroke Chinese scooter in 2003. A world of difference. I put over 5K miles on it, and only replaced a drive belt. I had serviced both scooters very well. I just recently bought a 150cc Chinese scooter, and have 1.3K miles on it with no problem. I really love it. But, I can see why the insurance is higher, ha. It is hard to keep it under 40 mph. I am older also, and don't need to be going fast. It sure is nice though, to be able to go up hill as fast as you dare to go down. God allowed me to survive the 100mph MC stuff when I was young. Have fun, and stay VERY alert.

I had only a few miles on my Red Fox Razor 150, when my headlight quit. The headlight relay burned out. It burned out 2 more within 200 miles. Without the relay, I just use a little jumper wire in that socket where the relay was plugged in ( under the front hood). I just found which connection had 12 volts, and which one ( purple ) went to the headlight, and jumper between these two. I have used this for 1000 miles. I am still trying to find out what the real problem is that causes the relays to quit. In the mean time, this is working. Good luck.

I found out that just the absence of the belt case gasket bound down the GY6 starter to where it would not crank. I just put that thin little gasket where it was supposed to be - and that did the trick. The starter worked perfectly.

I bought a nice looking scooter that would not crank - even with a new battery. The starter was in a bind. I bought and installed a new starter. It was in a bind. I discovered that someone may have replaced the belt, and left the gasket out that goes around the belt housing. I put a new gasket in - and bang - that was it. Just that thin gasket made the difference. No more problem. Among other causes, that is one. Good luck.
