I have a two-stroke Strada RX-50, which I'm told is the same as a Vento and I need the dimensions of the flywheel puller so I can get to my Stator. I don't want to order a universal online and have to wait when I can get the puller locally if I just know the measurements. I have been through all the Vento manuals and it does not specify the threads.. Does anybody know? Thanks!

I found that the pipe that comes off the header pipe near the flange had broken off and was just being held up by the bottom cover. I removed the header pipe, which is extremely rusty in contrast to the rest of the bike, to inspect and noticed there is nothing, around where the flange bolts onto the engine, sealing the engine on the bottom and on the other side, there is a square exposed, a 4'x5' piece of the plastic whatever missing as well! This is a two-stroke 50QT-2 engine and the spark plug goes in horizontally. So I am just wondering if I am missing an important cover in relation to the exhaust and also, how do I repair the pipe break?

Thanks, guys! You're right. Measure twice, cut once.

That sleeve is braided insulation and it may provide a bit of heat protection for the plastic coated wires... It is there for a reason... so You need a flywheel puller for your particular engine...and you should get in behind the flywheel where the stator is and see what is happening.. possibly replace the white sleeve... The flywheel turning, could be cutting it and eventually it will cut the wires...seen this a number of times... So, I went to Autozone's website and they have a gazillion types of pullers. Which one do I need? What do I ask for to replace the white sleeve? Do I need to drain the oil before removing the bell housing and/or stator? Can I repair the stator without removing it? Sorry to be so ignorant. This is my first mechanical troubleshooting experience..

I have a 2007 Yamati Eurostrada RX50 (2-stroke)--no manual. Ran great until it sputtered one day and would only go a few feet upon re-start. Followed procedures for bad gas, cleaned carb, adjusted and lubed throttle, inspected hoses, got new plug, looked for loose or dirty connections, tested battery. The body is on so tight I could only remove the side/bottom panel to check visible connections and decided I needed to remove the bell housing on the stator to be able to reach and test the starter. Once I got to the bell housing I found all kinds of frayed cloth threads and upon further investigation, found the end of what appears the be the cloth sleeve for some wiring to the stator! I cannot remove the bell housing unless you have some tips because I do not have a special tool but I can see from this picture on the link I provided that it is probably the white sleeve going into the stator. My question is, is this very harmful? Has anyone's bike done ok under this condition and if not, how can I get in there to remove it and what is the next step? Attachments:

Check the choke. remove it from the carb and hook it yo to the battery. The needle should extend about 3/8" in about 3 minutes... Set the valve gaps as well... intake (top) .004 inch and exhaust (bottom) .005 inch how do you attach to the battery with a plug?
