OK Alley, thanks again for the help. My pulley does measure 120MM so I'll stay with that. I'll play with the 12 and 14 gram sliders seperately again then probably order some 13's if I need to. All the best,, Harv..

DR. Pulley

Thanks for the reply ,,, No these are just three slanted, elongated s looking things with a line under it. I'm sure it is legit because where I bought it from in 2010. I was just curious because I'm changing my sliders and didn't notice any maker etc marks other than CF-125 and G08-1. I have two more questions Alley then I'll clam up. Variator diameter, where is that measured, the full width of the pulley, the part that holds the sliders? If I want to try 13 gram sliders can I mix half 14 gram and half 12 gram alternated around the variator i.e. 1-12, 1-14 and so on.. Thanks for the help.

Are DR. Pulley Variators marked "DR. Pulley" any where on the variator ? I bought one for my 157 qmj engine, not marked except for three "S" looking marks.

The Chinese Enigma Machine is up and running.. Thanks to you fine gents and this forum !!. I ran 12 ga. wire from the battery to the frame and engine. No more hot green wire when cranked. I don't know whether to be happy, embarrassed, or mad at this whole debacle. Evidently, this scoot was made with a crappy ground and it took this long for the problem to finally show up ?. I'm sure glad that you suggested a new cdi. With the two unknown bad ones I didn't get the hot green wire when cranked.. I have 638 Chinese miles on it, so using the starter over that amount of time finally went on the fritz ?..Delayed booby trap ?. ?. Thanks again and there are a bunch of us that rely and appreciate all the help and knowledge we get from this forum.. Harv..

Mr. Misery is back...I bought a new CDI from John.. I now have spark, ,,,, BUT the Ground wire to the Stator gets very hot. I try not to crank it very long because that is probably what ruined the other two cdi's. It reads a good ground. I have all the ground wires disconnected except for the ones I need to crank. I also read a very erratic voltage DC and AC on the stator ground wire when cranked. Now - The old stator had an over heated ground wire and so will this one shortly. Any ideas on this. I guess I'll take the wire bundles apart. That voltage has to be coming from somewhere because a ground sure won't create voltage. Thanks,,, Harv...

Thanks Rich. The green wire wasn't toasted just looked like it might have overheated. I noticed it when I took out the old stator. It wasn't the wire from the stator but the wire that it hooks up to. Maybe a high resistance connection. It reads ground ok. I'll get another CDI. We have to go to Michigan the 6th, be back the 13th so you can give a sigh of relief on this nightmare. I'll keep digging on this as soon as I get back.. Thank you all for the help. Great forum. Harv..

Rich,, I will go through the whole process again to re check and verify all my readings, etc. No loose or suspect wires have been found. Maybe we have an intermittent problem..It does look like the green wire from the stator may have been overheated. I'll get back to you today.. Thanks.. Harv..

I have continuity on black/white wire from cdi to black and white wire on the kill switch. In RUN I have cont. from black and white to both green and yellow wires. In STOP I have no continuity from the black and white wire to the green and yellow wire on the left,(below green wire) but do have cont. to the green and yellow wire on the right. Thanks. Harv..

I hope the picture is ok. Four wires is the Kill Switch . Continuity from ground on the cdi to the frame is near 0. Coil feed wire to ground when cranked in RUN is .2 vac. " " " " won't crank STOP is 0 vac. I hope this makes sense... Holler at me if it doesn't !!! Thanks mucho for the help !!!,, and patience !!

OK, Engine, Frame and Battery all have common ground. No spark when plug is grounded to the engine valve cover. What about the .3 vac on the blue and white pulse wire when cranked every thing in Run position ?. Could I have put the stator in wrong to cause no pulse ?. Like I mentioned it has two mounting holes so I can't see how it could be put in 180 deg. off. But that wouldn't explain my original problem.. Harv.
