i may have to try one of these aftermarket coils and see if it makes for a fatter/hotter spark. any one ever compare the chinsy/aftermarket coils to stock coils?

quality is a good advantage i agree. i don't think stock CDIs have a rev limit. i hit 10k with messed up A9 cam stock or aftermarket cdi didn't matter.
We don't know if he has good cdi and coil or cheapies. I'm thinking there are several issues at hand here.

you might ask around at planet minis possibly specially the jdm/z50 section some of those guys know their stuff. that said i find that for the engine as long as it is of similar design and of right mm and dimensions, it is good to go ie honda piston in gy6.
there are sites that sell parts for scoots like these
mostly older two strokes.

also a racing coil and cdi are waste of money. i tried one of those racing CDIs and it made it run like crap (electrical timing).

well if you guys want glass packs, this guy makes some killer glass packs. i'm running one on my z50 with 155cc @ 11.5:1 CR www.minigunz.com/you will have to adapt it to your header pipe but, I promise it's hand made in the USA with real steel, stainless i think.

Arctic silver makes an epoxy i'm not sure if it is up to those temps though because they stuff is actually removable with enough heat. People say the stuff is permanent but, it isn't enough cold or heat and it pop off with little force.
i suppose if once had a way of mounting on aluminum heat sinks you could use regular thermal paste how ever they run hot enough i'm sure they would work with out paste.
There is also an additive you can put in your oil to conduct more heat it usually helps to have an oil cooler though.

Yeah just like their A9 cams, which i bought and was completely Fked up and made the scoot unrideable and yes it was installed correctly no ifs ands or buts. I would not trust their opinion or just any other seller (they are there to sell). I have friend who is a very skilled race/engine builder who I've been going to for advice and so far i have to say the mods the make the biggest difference are the home grown ones. /rant also i wonder if any of these would fit a GY6 www.dratv.com/shoiltedi209.htmlwww.dratv.com/looiltedi209.html

i'm almost thinking there might be something wrong with the engine like really wrong with it and that how the starter got fried in the first place, by not being able to turn over. or it justn eeds a high torq started i'd have thought they were all the same as they all run the same compression un less you install some performance piston/head.

super trap made one for the z50 but, i heard they were discontinued. regardless i'm sure one could be fitted to the stock header tube. I'd like to keep mine quiet or even make it quieter while not loosing any power or even yielding more power, do it sounds like the universal super trap may be my best bet if they have any in a smaller size. Any one used super trap before? EDIT: found one www.supertrapp.com/product_sections/cat.asp?CatID=35

oh yeah they are gonna be loud that where the "extra performance" comes from is probably the lack of baffle. I was gonna come in here and ask if any one knew of a good quit pipe for the gy6 but, screw it i could probably weld on a can from z50 after market pipe or similar.

in that case they could make finned CVT covers, it would take much to go on alibabba and order a container oh CVT covers made to your specs if a gy6 parts seller was willing to invest the money.
Yes magnet, i run magnetic drain plug just for the added insurance, you never when little something something might find it's way in after rebuild or oil chance. my guess though if any thing if does pick something up there is gonna be a lot and it won't be good.
also is the debate on weather they work based on the oil pump volume? would the volume depend on scoot to scoot due to the cheap nature of the gy6?
Another thing where are people mounting these at?
