I didn't even know there was a Big Ruckus in some ways it looks kind of ridiculous but, i'm gonna make an assumption and guess it is rather comfortable with a smooth ride, no?

They used better metal back then compared to today's china products.

one of the plastic shims broke on my variator plate after replacing my belt replaced with new plate and shims which helped some, however i noticed it runs faster just before the belt completely wears out as it is thinner and makes for different gearing.

wow lucky you having a schematic. AFAIK my 07 shanghai has never been touch but, the gas gauge goes backwards. I gave up on it and pulled the rotting foam thing off the sending unit for more room for fuel.

hhmmm that's not a bad idea. That gets me thinking i may line my batter box lid with car interior foam to keep it from rattling around.

Thats why installed a magnet drain plug, just in case. You might consider better oil. I heard schaffers is good stuff. Does any one else have any suggestions? you may consider GTX high mileage if you have enough mileage?

Mine broke so before installed I tried my best to work it back and forth while dropping in graphite and then I think maybe oil.

I fit a bigger carb to my 50 and had the same problem, long story short the stock carb went back on and the other in the parts pile.
Shouldn't your 50 have something closer to 16-19mm carb? The problem with a bigger carb is the small bore can't create the suction needed or you have to fiddle with it and adjust and re-jet it, a bigger carb. i doubt, would make it go faster.
Not trying to sound mean or any thing. if a 23 is the right size, you might double check that there are no intake leaks.

yeah a lot of the time you have to file the ring "end gap", I never did because i was just refitting together the same top end after modding the head.

i take spark plug socket and put rag over it and hit it with 5 pound hammer it may take one or two hits but, it will pop loose and the rag will catch the valve keepers if they try to take off.

actually that torq sheeve sounds usefully then, i'm not wanting much out of it after modification just little umph and maybe a few more mph. i already have a 63cc jug and piston and honda s65 piston which may or may not fit. i may resell them on ebay and the NCY 63cc bbk with complete with head and cam or just stick with what have.
if what you say about the torq sheeve is true then it sounds i like have something to gain with combo of weights and torq sheev. I was also thinking about making/preparing a road side emergency kit encase i ever have a belt break again. (i don't always have a cellphone)

There is a small lip on the bottom of the cylinder that is where you slip in the piston with the ring compressor. it all slides on, back together just make sure you have your gaskets and the O-ring if it needs/has one, in place first.
