I'm sorry for all the problems you have had. I sure would have called my credit card company and put in a dispute of the charges. They would have no recourse, but to ship you the right unit and have someone crate and return the wrong unit. They are a B&M business as they show their building, address, and hours they are open. If you already registered the scooter you might have problems.

damin69 What may be straight forward to you and others is not the case with me. Things like run a wire to the battery, mount the ballast, the blue wire goes to the white, the white to the green, etc (making up wire connections) is all greek to me. For the life of me I could never understand the reasons why you have to remove the entire front end to change a burnt out light bulb.

monkeywrench, I have thought of the HID lights, but I suck at electronics. I am going to give the Halogen light bulbs a chance and pray I don't melt the lens covers. IF they give off almost twice the light I should be in good shape riding home at night.

When you say plates are you talking about inside of the variator and the clutch bell? Have you taken the variator out and looked at the rollers or sliders if you have them? Are the clutch pads worn down and smooth? With 9000 miles on it I wouldn't hesitate to change the belt. Why chance it breaking a few thousand miles from now.

gmoney, I have not seen any 35W halogens that fit the same socket on the 54B. Curious if any one else has tried them and have not burned the lens cover or discolored it.
Cruiser one 45 W and one 35 W seems like a good idea. More light and less draw on the battery.

Thanks Cruiser. SC must have a law prohibiting street lights. With the days getting shorter my speed has adjusted to it, as I ride about 5 mph slower then normal. I can follow the yellow lines well enough, but I am concerned about someone not seeing me coming and pulling out in front of me. Those bulbs are cheap enough and worth a try.

Does anyone know if there is a higher watt headlight bulb which fits the same socket and won't melt the plastic? I drive home at night now and the 35 W headlight bulbs suck.
Thanks

Are you sure? I don't think the honda engine would fit. Take some pictures and post them.

Once you get the problem fixed go out and purchase a Battery Tender they are cheap and they work great. Once a month I hook it up to my scoots battery just to make sure I have a fully charged battery.
