I expected it to run better, and am hoping its related to bad gas. do i just drain the bowl, or remove and disassemble?

Also there is no water in the oil or viceversa, oil is very clean as is the new coolant. Is it possible that the plug got messed up through all the work and bad gas?

with the help of everyone here I have managed to adjust the valves, change the fluids, the plug. Clean the air filter and the belt. I have just finished replacing the clutch, I ordered this one, this is for the mc 54-250b by the way. www.roketapartsonline.com/baja-atv-parts-clutch-assembly-11-16-splines-for-chinese-250cc-300cc-engines-p-9156.htmlI counted the plines and they match. I tried sliders but went back to the rollers. all clean and properly installed. I went back to the gates belt that was on it because the new belt was cheap and filled the cover with black crumbs/dust. The old belt was fine the squeaking was the clutch. so..... everything was fine till I got cheap crappy gas and changed these parts. I drained the gas from the tank and replaced it with no ethanol gas 93 oct. so now I wonder why the seeming lack of power? the belt size is 856, same as before when it did have more top end. I just did the valves last month, and the plug. the idle is at 1500, the timing is lined up. Could the new firmer clutch cause this? where the old worn out clutch allowed more top end with this belt. feels like it lacks take off and power at 50 mph doesnt want to really take off from there.

yeah but I didnt unhook the battery it just loses time. i set it yesterday and a few hours later it was again right about where it started. I dont want to buy an instrument panel just to fix the clock. Maybe I'm setting it wrong, its seems pretty easy, but there might be a last step i'm missing.

the little clock on the gauges loses time, does anybody know if it just uses a watch battery? guess I'll find out when I replace the speedo light.

i was test driving my scoot after a belt replacement and all seemed well. It seems that the new rear tire I had mounted last week, the guy didnt change out the valve stem, and the old one decied that it wanted to blow out. so at 20 mph in a turn it got wobbley and I had to pull over to find that the rear tire had no valve stem and was flat. ****lesson learned when having new tires put on request new valve stems as well**** or you could be looking for a ride home too.
