I have gotten some more info. I made a few phone calls and the consensus I got was: 59mm kits are a direct fit, 61mm kits require case milling in most cases depending on the motor and kit used, 62mm, 63mm and 64mm kits DO require case milling. I was also told that using the 63mm and 64mm can crack the case. more so with the 64mm. To use a 63mm or a 64mm kit, the cases need to be strengthened were the jug sides in by a machine shop capable of doing that and "line bored".
I also have been working with my warehouse on pricing of these kits and some other items. I hope to have the new prices on my site this weekend to be more in line with other "reputable" dealers. I doubt if I will be able to compare with "some" of the Ebay folks, but a lot of them only sell parts, meaning they don't other tech support or even work on scooters like those of us in the above banner ads. Bashan does a great job of weeding the bads ones out of his banners.

www.bikersrights.com/statistics/notsafe.html Interesting article. I did a paper once on the pros and cons of motorcycle helmets involving a lot of research. My conclusions were that in most cases there was more damage caused to the head and spine by a helmet than would have been without a helmet. Now keep in mind that a 30MPH head on , rear ended, or T-bone crash , in most cases it won't make a difference whether or not you have a helmet on or not. The laws of physics takes over, either your head is crushed into your spine or your head is pulled off of your spine. Now saying that, laying your machine down and scraping the pavement, wearing a helmet does give you a better chance of seriuos injury due to "road rash" and loss of blood. I personally agree with Wisconsin's Helmet Law, Required by law under age 18, required for instructional permit holders (source home.ama-cycle.org/amaccess/laws/result.asp?state=wi) Taking being ran into out of the equation, most, not all, under 18 and permit holders do not have have the experience of riding and are more likely to have an accident close to home and below 30MPH. Go watch the folks at a Motorcycle Safety course once to see what I mean, it can be scarey. My 3 cents worth. Jim

Sorry this took so long to get, but I ran out of time to write a reply yesterday.
1. Does the case require boring for this kit to fit? In MOST cases anything over a 59mm will require case machining. Be leary of those that say it don't.
2. Is the jug aluminum or cast? All BBK with the except of 62mm are cast.
3. Will the stock head fit? Depends on the original motor Some will some won't. See .
4. When is the expected date to be back in stock? Would take a couple days to build a kit, the only kit available for shipping right now is the 62mm.
5. Who is the manufacturer? Generic/MRP
As far as cost is concerned there will be some price adjusting going on with my website in the next couple days. Takes some time due to codeing issues. I want to be more competitive on these kits, but don't want to go broke doing it. There is one website (won't say the name) that has lowered his prices so low it is unbelievable, but he makes it up in Shipping and Handleing.
On another note, if you find a part on my website that you think is out of line price wise, let me know in an email or PM and I will look into it. With 1000s of parts I have access to in the MRP warehouse, it is hard for me to check each and everyone for price comparisions. Another thing is please don't mix apples and oranges when price comparing, some parts are cheaper elsewhere for a reason.

Wow that is a great price. I am going to have to look to see why the MRP kit is higher priced. Jim

I went and read the info on their site and one thing I noticed was this " In addition, its recommended to get our 61mm big valve head as well, as some stock heads will not fit. " That statement prompted me to do a little more research and came up with this from MRP: I also saw this statement "As far as we know, this is the only 61 mm cylinder kit for the GY6 engine that exists in the US. " This prompted some more research LOL. I did find that MRP does offer a 61mm GY6 kit, PN N-MP-0944C, sadly it is out of stock right now and no information except it is a 61mm. Sooooooooo, I wrote Joel and email asking him, 1. Does the case require boring for this kit to fit? 2. Is the jug aluminum or cast? 3. Will the stock head fit? 4. When is the expected date to be back in stock? 5. Who is the manufacturer? I will post the results as soon as I get them. One other thing is the MRP price is lower on my site, even lower with the forum discount. Now does this mean that the MRP kit is an inferior setup? At this time I can not answer that question sense I have yet to try one. Jim/Owner Rapid Repair

Alley,
It was a drop ship and he did his own PDI, even took body panels off to check things. He did have an idle and running problem in the beginning which turned out to be a vacuum leak and did readjust the carb afterwards.

As replied to you in the "other" place, beware of cheap windshields. Not that scrappy sells bad stuff, I buy from him also, but Slip Streamers are far worth the money. I just tryed to get on scrappys site to see what windsheild you are talking about but can not get there. I wonder if he is having problems? As far as making one, it is possible but your probems will come in with mounting hardware and getting the plexi glass cut and drilled. I have 3 sizes on sale right now if you are interested. scooterdoc.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=parts&action=display&thread=2157 Jim

I earned this battered old body the hard way! I am looking forward to 50. I really am hoping I won't get as old as 75, though. I have been through several lifetimes of trouble, so I'm ready for home when it's time. All I can say is my 50s have been great so far, 60s are coming up fast in 3 years. Jim

Roy,
That is a tremendous drop, something isn't right. But not sure what. I will have to ponder it.
