I am so glad that I didn't continue my teaching when I left the service. I don't know how I would react to the Young Adults(?) of today. At least teaching young recruits I had a captive audience and they had to behave.

Deer vrs Motorcycle the odds are in favor of the deer. I have had many close encounters of the deer kind that I have lost count. It is one thing that scares the crap out of me. Good thing my Harley has a brown seat!
I lost a very close freind years ago to a deer. He was traveling way to fast (don't we all at times) and a deer ran across the road and he and his bike cut the deer in half, sad to say he didn't make it.
Always keep your eyes out for these critters, esp at dusk and dawn. Don't want to read about anyone else getting hurt or worse.

Thank you brother and welcome home!
I wish to take a moment to thank those that have served and those that are still serving our great Country today. Take a moment tomorrow and thank a Vet or better yet give them a hug.
To those that have served, Welcome Home! To those that are still serving Thank You!

One of the complaints or request for tech support I get is how to open the seat on a Magnum. Some people have a hard time with it, one of the reasons is they are not opening it right. They either want to push the key in as they are turning it or do not turn it far enough. The proper way to release the seat locks is to first make sure that you are turning the key all the way ccw and NOT pushing in on the key. You will hear the locking mechanism release. If it still doesn't unlock the seat then: Remove the 4 screws holding the lower center panel below the handlebars. Carefully remove the cover by gently prying up and and pushing the piece towards the seat. Release the tabs from both sides. (It may be necessary to push down in the center to release the locking tabs.) Next open right side glove box and remove the 2 screws for the top side panel. Very carefully pry the panel upwards and back to release the clips. Now looking down where you just removed the panel you will see the cable coming out of the ignition switch. Loosen the lock nut and lengthen the cable by rotating the barrel. Turn in small increments and test your adjustment. Side note, some times the seat won't lock, follow the above proceedure except you want to shorten the cable by rotating the barrel in. Jim/Owner Rapid Repair

I always love this question! According to Ice Bear Max top speed is 70 - 75 MPH, crusing speed out of the box should be 60 MPH to 65 MPH.

Not much is fixed anymore. We have turned into a throw away electronics world. Costs more to fix something than it does to replace it. Sad!

Another thing I noticed today when I took it out again, the rear of the rear deck is now 10 inches above the ground instead of 4 inches. This will lower the wind resistance since it is not curved as musch and is higher off thr ground. Also the seat height is now 28 inches from the ground vrs 25 iches on the non modified Magnum.

Jim, Approximately what kind of money is that new 300 going to be selling for? just ball park. I had not been following trikes much but at the rate I am limping along it might not be all that long that I have to seriously look that way if I want to be able to ride. Where I live the 150cc trikes would not work for me as I am out of town with steep 55mph roads. John www.rapidrepair.webs.com/250cc.htm Here is the link to the 300 section, all prices are drop ship and include shipping to the lower 48. The compeller is still a straight axel and the Magnum has been upgraded. I am not sure if and when IB will upgrade the Compeller. As of right now IB has no plans to up their prices, which has really surprised me considering the upgrades they did to the Magnum. Jim/Owner Rapid Repair

Well just got back from it's first test ride and all went well. I rode this one first then took out a Magnum with a straight axel. Yes there is a big difference in how the modified version rides. The addition of the independent rear suspension coupled with the 4 shock system rides better and corners better in my opinion. Varied the speed a bit while I was riding it and seem to get to 50 quickly, didn't push it and harder due to not being broke in but plenty of throttle left. I don't care for the trunk, source of a vibration, took some screen door rubber ( that holds the screen in place on a door) and placed it in the channel of the trunk lid, readjusted the lock and this helped. Personally I would do without the trunk. The modified plastic rear deck and mounting system didn't have any vibration noises, so the redesign worked.
Overall I am impressed with the mods.
