well , I was thinking about building a test jig ( remember the old tube tester in the drug stores ) wiring up the electrical system CDI , regulator , stator , coil , plug , battery . Just plug suspect bad part .
Then try to sell them to the part dealers so they can check electrical parts before shipping parts. This would be very help full for warehouse distributors or dealers that sell parts they check parts when they get them. This would keep the retailers and consumers from getting bad parts from the box.
ok guys lets run with this!

You would need to have a flywheel and a pick-up coil as well as a CDI.
Unfortunately I doubt anyone would bother using it. Most make their money shipping cheap parts rapidly and with the least amount of effort. This would only increase their costs...
Probably a better market would be repair places...

I'm afraid Sprocket is probably spot on in our throw away, send it back society. They factor in so many returns and failed parts and pass the cost on to us. They could care less. However, I think it would be a great thing to work up and market to the avarage scooter wrench. A diagnostic device so you don't spend an afternoon chasing that one failed component. Sounds like a good idea to me. Rich

Honestly, once you learn to use a $12 multimeter, that is all you really need.
But what is badly needed is a comprehensive and correct electrical diagnosis guide with accurate trouble-shooting and a decision tree...
I can't believe how many owners get a problem and then start throwing parts at it with the hopes of finding something that is defective.
Most don't even check the spark or fuel flow...boggles my mind...

I was thinking a drill attachec to the magnito /////fit the crankshaft to the drill ( in the chuck ) a scoot battery spin the drill and check for power once you get spark speed the drill up check regulator for output , ..
if the part places gave a crap or cared to learn there product it could sell . But bottom line every person in the chinese scoot biz could care less about you/us once the money changes hands.
I ordered a regulator I needed the one in the pic on the web site (it was simular not exact) it did not work . I called them they had a carefree attitude. when I finally got them to issue an ra they gave me like 6 days to get it to them. it was a good thing i payed for proof of delivery. I called them a week after they got it back and they claimed they didn't recive it. When I gave them the tracking number for proof of delivery they found the package. they were ready to screw me for my money. now they say they will send me a check for refund its been 3 weeks.
sorry for the babble guys The sad truth is all we seem to have ourselfs the scootering public.

>>so is this a hint sprocket
ya, this is really needed, but my electric skill are lacking...especially testing R/R diodes etc.
There is a fairly good trouble shooting electrical guide around, but it is for motorcycles and the electrical values are different, so it is basically useless for scooters...

Still remember ElI the IcE man to. voltage leads current in a resistive circuit and current leads voltage in a capacitive circuit.
