When you're wot and you run into the bog,,,back off the throttle a bit ,,,if it picks back up and gets strong again this indicates a lean condition I try to look for this but I only feels this way, but won't go faster.

No bogging with new carburator. Got to 45mph. Now to get to 55mph and 90mpg. So some bogging at 45mph. And it's at WOT. Also I cannot get up past 45mph. OK my thoughts, I think when I took to the original shop I purchased from for bogging and not getting to 55 mph, I think they did changes that hurt gas mileage and top end. The sliders they put in are 11 grams. It comes with 13 gram rollers. I'm going to install 14 gram sliders lower RPM's. I should get better gas mileage and better top end. I hope.

I posted in non Chinese scooters, but no one is there looking. 2013 Cali Classic 125cc. 11000 miles. I had a bogging problem at 30 mph, but a new carb solved that mostly. I get bogging at 45mph and it won't go faster. I have not checked the jet size but there is still plenty of room to adjust to make richer if it was needed. I have thoughts: 1 place marks on the drive and driven face with a marker and see just how far up the pulley the belt goes. Making sure the belt is going all the way to each end. After that it's just roller weights. The big spring. I'm trying just to get to factory. I could go 55 and got 90 mpg when new. Not smoking, compression test is still about 185 WOT. New plug and ignition coil, belt fairly new, carb new, air filter looks new, tires are new, muffler is new, head is new and new head gasket. Always had a trunk and windshield. Got it in July of 2012, did great until Oct 2012, then bogging in cold (60 degrees Fahrenheit) weather. Bogging is mostly gone. Now to get the top end back and mpg. I need thoughts. I cannot think of what could cause this. Cold weather could cause some loss in top end and mpg but 10 mph with flat ground no wind, and 63 degrees Fahrenheit? Seems wrong Read more: scooterdoc.proboards.com/thread/13184/55-mph-get-80-mpg#ixzz4PCgZIbkCOK my thoughts, I think when I took to the original shop I purchased from for bogging and not getting to 55 mph, I think they did changes that hurt gas mileage and top end. I skipped playing with old carburator for now. New is already installed. Will test drive tonight, get carb fuel/air mixture adjusted as well as I can.

Could have been a big part of the problem,, running the bowl dry,, I would say yes but don't get too nutty with the adjustment I tried to move it up a few mm's. I will try to move up a few more. I am close. 45 mph. Only stumbles at 35mph for a second, then moves right past it.

Have you done a valve lash check/adjustment. If not you will not get a stable a/f adjustment. Yes

Hasn't come in, so a question.
I raised the float and this is what helped. If I raised it again, and it didn't leak out from being over filled I should be OK?

I don't want to create problems but by the time you get the cleaning bath tool wouldn't it be less expensive to get a nibbi or mikuni carb and set it and forget it?,,, I picked up a new in the box mikuni vm round slide for under $50 delivered,,, my Vespa et4 never ran better I have ordered a carburator in the past but it didn't help. But I'm with you on this? I have ordered, but I'm still cleaning the current one after. I need the training.

I don't think there carburator is completely clean. I missed things. I'm going to try to get a ultrasonic cleaner from harbor freight and of course disassemble and remove as much as possible and run that through, and then check all the circuits with air/come cleaner etc.
