None of the combinations would get the belt to ride all the way up.

I have an RPM Tach but it's not very good. I don't trust it. I also did this when the sun was coming down and it was blinding so I couldn't watcha tachometer Don't matter if it not that accurate , we can use it as a reference I'll try when it's not so blinding. Cannot see it at that time of the day, it's the wrong way. The time change and the angle of the sun is terrible. I started at 2pm it was already too late. I'll figure something out.

Belt is 799x19x28 Wheels 12 inch in getting, 10 inch in back. Cannot fit anything else. But that didn't matter before. The scooter did hi 55 mph with stock everything and I was heavier. Shop did stuff and it won't go over 45 I can tell you a short case 150 takes an 835-20-30 belt the long case takes the 842-20=30. 299 is some oddball. How many blots on the cvt cover 8? or 10? John It's a 125cc

What is your peak RPM at the speeds you are indicating? I have an RPM Tach but it's not very good. I don't trust it. I also did this when the sun was coming down and it was blinding so I couldn't watcha tachometer

I have different sliders. 14 gram rollers, 13 gram sliders, 11 gram sliders.
Did different types of combinations. None would get past 46 to 47 mph. None would get the belt to ride all the way up.
The scooter seems to love getting to 45 mph and seems like it could just go right on past, but since the belt won't travel to the entire front pulley outer edge I won't get past 45mph.
I personally like the combination of 14 gram rollers and 11 gram sliders, also the 13 gram sliders, and I like a mixture of the 13 and 11 gram sliders. Just the 11 gram sliders is to much RPM's too early, and doesn't sustain past 40. Actually wouldn't go past 40mph.
I don't know which would give best gas mileage. I don't know which will before better at top speed as I cannot get there.
I have ordered a koso 115mm variator and the fan. I also have a clutch spring 1.5 k coming.
What do you all think?

Could be the contra spring ,,,but what is the width of the belt would be my first look 21 mm, my OEM is 799x19x28 I replaced it with a new one. The old was width 18.5 mm. Don't have any idea if that makes a difference. Doesn't appear to.

I got the new belt in. I'm finally back up to 61mph top speed! Here's my K&S and Koso variator results on a brand new belt! Previously I *barely* got 57-58 with these same parts. * Note: The "Throttle response" ratings below, refers to how much throttle is needed to cruise a certain speed. If there's bad throttle response, it feels like the bike is revving but not really going anywhere, or like the belt is slipping. K&S + 13g rollers + 107mm variator fan
Top speed: 61mph @ 7000rpm Acceleration WOT: ~6400rpm Cruise 40mph @ 6000rpm Cruise 50mph @ 6400rpm ----Throttle response---- 0-30mph..... ***** (does pretty good up to 25mph)30-40mph... ***** (throttle starts getting much less responsive after 30mph)
40-50mph... ***** (50-75% throttle to cruise these speeds..feels like belt is slipping!)50+mph..... *****
--------------------------- ^ K&S Notes: I think the 13g rollers may be too light for it, but strangely it still gets the top speed when wide open. I really wonder how properly weighted sliders would affect this variator?? It might clear the throttle response problem up. Koso + 12g Dr Pulley sliders + 107mm variator fanTop speed: 61mph @ 7000rpm Acceleration WOT: 6200rpm Cruise 40mph @ 5000-5500rpm Cruise 50mph @ 6000rpm ----Throttle response---- 0-30mph..... ***** (hard to go under 30! ..10% throttle for side streets, for real!)30-40mph... ***** (absolutely effortless, feels like I'm in "overdrive" gear)40-50mph... ***** (it cruises these speeds at 20-40% throttle; still feels effortless)50+mph:.... *****
--------------------------- ^ Koso notes: I was on the K&S setup as shown above, for about a week, then when I went to this Koso+slider combination, WOW the difference is night and day.
Now to drill some more holes in my CVT cover for venting. It's less hot than before, but still hot enough to worry me this new belt might wear out quick too. The clutch bell itself was WOW hot, almost burnt my finger in a split second. Did you figure this all out? I'm in the middle of this. I need to get my mph up. I am stuck at 45. Stock variator used to get me to 55 mph true, and was getting 90 mpg. I took it to the local shop after it started to bog down in colder weather. They did stuff to it and never explained what was done and never fixed the bogging. I fixed it with this forums help. New carb helped. I can only get to 45 mph. I cannot get the top speed of 55-60mph any more. Bare in mind it's much colder now here so I may not get that until a nice warm day. It's in the 30's. They changed the belt length and width and depth I believe. They also went to 11 gram sliders from Dr pulley. I tried to correct. I mixed some 14 gram rollers and the 11 gram sliders to get to 12 grams and was OK, but it had to sit waiting for parts. I won't go on to do the details but the shop was very bad. Anyway, I now prefer the 13 gram sliders. I got the correct belt do all I need is to get full range on the variator. Mine will now only go to just shy of 1/4 inch or so to the outer edge. It seems a Kooso, 4 and 1/2 inch variator is needed then play with the sliders and rollers as you had to do.

I have still got a problem. I like the way the 13 gram sliders are feeling. However, I cannot get past 45mph. If my contra spring is bad this would cause this correct? I say this as I've read the library about the rollers, variators and clutch/driven pulley. That's something I got from this. Also noticed the drive pulley (variator) isn't showing belt markings on the last upper/outer part of it. About a 1/4 inch.

The contra spring must be messed up. It's the correct belt.

I replaced the sliders. I'm at 13 grams. Will report with results. So far no bogging.

When I opened the CVT cover it was dirty, cleaned. But I noted that the driven and drive pulleys definitely are not using all of the range for the belt. Both only went to just shy of the top by 1/4 inch or so. Might have to get a different belt.

So I got it up to 50 MPH. Not sure if this was a good test as it's cold and windy. I'll retest to make sure. No bogging though. Yeah

Since it starts, I would focus on consistent fuel, air and spark.
Eliminate vacuum, and replaced the lines if possible. Take off one by one and check them for possible damage, corrosion, etc.
Replace fuel filter.
Then replace the spark plug and ignition coil.

OK, got the 13 gram sliders installed. Cleaned CVT.
CANNOT wait to test it out.
