If it makes ACTUAL POP SOUNDS not BACKFIRE(POW POW..Like a gun going off) it needs a little more fuel. You can turn the fuel mixture screw COUNTER CLOCKWISE 1/4-1/2 turn and see if that fixes it. It could also be that the IDLE is to low and closing off to many of the FUEL OUTLETS by the butterfly So you can also try bringing up the idle a little more. If it is BACKFIREING on DE-CEL then you have a very bad AIR LEAK, usually by the Flange where it connects to the MOTOR or you pipe is cracked. Alleyoop Question, what if the air/fuel mixture screw isn't a normal flat had screw driver till needed. Mine is some weird seen semi circle bit.

I had a vibration and noise on my 150 short case that came from a stretched belt. 799 sounds odd to me. Are you sure that's the right length. It is a fiddle 2 engine, specs from lance ate 799-19-28. Ok I did something that fixed it for me. I opened the variator area up. Nothing looked wrong. Took off variator, same thing, nothing wrong. Decided that I'd like to try mixing sliders (13g) and rollers (14g). Then I noticed that when I would go to put the variator back together and the belt back on the belt would push the variator back some. I used right hand to get the belt to have more play and then put the belt and variator fan back on. I then tightened the but by hand as far as I as I could. Used the impact the rest of the way. It's great now. Now if I can figure out why the gas mileage is only 60 mpg.

I have a 2013 cali classic 125 cc.. I replaced the previous belt and sliders. I did this because the dealership have dopes running the place. They put a belt that was too long, and 13 g sliders. I just need normal performance. I just wanted factory oem stuff. They couldn't get it very quickly and didn't think to have anything in stock for the scooter I purchased from them.
Anyway, I got a Bando 799-19-28 belt and Dr pulley 14 g rollers. I can get up to 55mph again and gas mileage is up to 73mpg on a windy day. Yes! I couldn't get past 53 mph before and gas mileage was 60 mpg on a great day., no wind.
I now have a excessive vibration from 25 mph to 30mph maybe 35 mph. Also, there is a sound that comes on about 30 mph behind the vibration that stays until past 50 mph with a slight vibration constant. The sound is that of car tires on a highway. The highway sound of tires. It's the only thing it sounds like to me.
My questions, well the vibration subside? Week the vibrations decrease? I'd it possible the Dr pulley rollers are incorrectly faced and/or is the belt the problem? I need to emphasis that I can go 55 mph and faster again, and my gas mileage is much closer to correct.
Thank you all

Ok took emissions off, it didn't help, I'm done. It runs like crap. I'm done. I've wasted so much money. This is a piece of crap. It had never run well. It's a Lemon, the engine is poorly made. I'll save my money. Wait, but something with a long warranty, with people that will work on it. I'm putting it out for recycling. The old engine too. Piece of crap.

I'm going to try removing the emissions. It's the wrong color it should be black smoke. It's white. I'm going to put the valve cover that came with it back on. Get an egr blocking plate. If that corrects all this fine. If not, then I'll tear the engine apart

Um, the problem is the egr tube coming from head. That is what is stopping it from working, starting.

I hope this helps. I took off valve cover. It won't start with it off. It turns over but no start. What could cause that? seems compression isn't being achieved without valve cover on.

Ok, I am not sure this is working. I an really going through oil. I thought there was progress but I tried to go slow & it's burning oil alot. I'm going to take muffler off, hang it so the oil drains oil, I'm going to collect and see how much comes out. Then I'm going to re attach. I think at higher speeds it is better. But at low speeds it's terrible.
