The law in the UK doesn't force bikes to use lights in the daytime but most bikers with sense have them on all the time and i insist that my son does it too

I have checked the voltage when revving the bike and the voltage peaks around 14v which i find ok. The probl;em is that when the lights are on high beam, the voltage goes down to below 12v and this is causing the battery to drain quickly

Just bought a new battery for my sons bike but it didnt take long to run it down flat. When i recharged it, it dropped down from 13.5v to 12.7v in 24Hours. Also, when the bike in running, the voltage only goes up to 12.35v after starting.

Can anyone help me with the wiring on the bike. My son has a 2004 model but i have a 2008 model engine i want to install. The wiring coming from the generator on the 2004 model has 3 wires but only 2 on the 2008 model. Can anyone tell me the difference or will i need to change the generators in which case i will need to get the special removal tool to do this

My son has a sym jet 50 euro x which has developed a fault. a few days ago it died on him so i looked at the usual suspects and changed the plug and cap, the fuel filter and cleaned the carb. It was very difficult to start but when warmed up, it responded ok to the throttle. A few hours later, i had the same starting problem and found that if i warmed the plug first, it would start but struggle to keep going at first. I suspected the automatic choke but after testing it and connecting it directly to the battery have found nothing wrong with it. Anyone with any ideas?
