im not so sure about street legal bikes, but ( dont ask how i know ) some friends used to "obtain" dirt bikes and 4 wheelers, they would then order a bare frame for the matching bikes which comes with its own vin. they would swap all of the parts off of the bikes and put them on new frames, take the new bike down to the dmv, and get new titles for them.

it has 40K miles. i took it on a few short rides around the block but not too far as the chain tried to shoot off of the bike when it undergoes too much torque, so i have to let off of the clutch really slow coming out of every gear lol. after the rides when i roll up in my yard and let it idle, the throttle response is dead on, when i took the video, i had just turned it on first time that day. another thing is the bike made me out to be a liar lol. the starter just whines and spins when you press the button but for some odd reason when i started it in the video, it fired right up, guess it knew it was going on youtube and had to make its self presentable it will be about a month or so before it is road ready, a few things to clear up, such as the brakes ( i really dislike the drum brakes it has both front and rear. ) need to be fixed up due to having to almost hit the brakes all the way to slow down a little, and the clutch needs a little free play.

well i couldnt resist. the price was right. 300$. needs some work. did a little work today on it, enough to get er running right and rolling down the road. needs new starter, tires, rear main sprocket and the usual oil change and crank case oil change. other then that, she is beautiful. heres a few pics along with a follow up video.

i was going to post pics of my scoot and new bike next to each other. i dont think he would mind that at all. my new honda needs work though and i was wondering if he would care if i posted updates and pics on it as im working on it. the oldest bike ive worked on was a 89 honda cr 250 dirtbike. around this area there are no bike shops or power sport shops. i might need a little doc help to locate parts lol. i will PM him.

yeah i was VERY amazed that i had him untill 40 mph. we were at his hanger at the airport, we got to race down a runway. i wish i had a helmet cam because that would have made for a great short video. next time i go out to the airport i will atleast take pics. i did pick up a 82' honda cm 250 custom ( real motorcycle ) will outrun his scooter now needs some work though. will post pics tomorrow.

so today i raced an 80s model honda 250 scooter, which was bone stock and looked like an airplane without wings. had em up to 40mph, then i got dusted. was a sad day for my scoot.
