I can't believe it. A friend just gave me his 1994 Harley Davidson softail with only 9000 miles on it. It's spotless! He can no longer ride, and rather than sell it he wanted to give it to a friend who could. Pics to follow after I pick it up this week.
Very unexpected and right now I am just blown away.

You are going to need an impact-driver to get that off.

hey beach bum, you're in San Diego right? If I am correct, which Honda dealership is it? I need to purchase one of these. Nice scoot--looks like mine I am up near Santa Monica. But, check at a local shop. They had it in stock up here. Hope you find one.

Right on Alleyoop! I have been diggin around and could not find anything like this.
The little I could find on maintenance, tells me to clean the screen. So, maybe there is a way without buying a whole new unit.

Look at second pic, on the second link. I am assuming the fuel line is the hose just to the left of the middle of the round plate with all the bolts around it. That hose runs from the top of the tank straight to the top of the intake manifold. I know the pictures are kind of hard to see, but thats the best that I have right now...in my office trying to locate some good pics on internet.
This is an EFI. So, as far as I know there is no vacuum line.
Stupid me....I was trying to soak up some of the gas (over fill) and a piece of paper towel fell into the tank.

I am guessing that the fuel filter is in the tank. I cannot locate one in the line that runs to the intake. Here is a link with a picture of what it looks like. If it is in the tank. Do i just unbolt all of those around it and pull it out? Will i need another gasket, or is that a rubber gasket that can be used again. www.kymcoforum.com/index.php?action=dlattach;topic=7350.0;attach=5914;image

After sitting for so long you might want to check and see if any little critters built a nest in your exhaust...she might be constipated.

Well, it wasn't the rollers. I buttoned it up again thinking it had to be either what you suggested or the starter clutch, but as I listened around the scoot it really sounds like its coming from the clutch. Have you ever heard of a clutch making that kind of noise at idle?
FYI--the clutch is not engaged at all.
I think I will try a used clutch I have to see if that is what it is.
Where do I start to check the valve train?

I just installed a new motor, but I hear something like a metal noise. I researched a bit and came up with two possibilities; the roller weights or the starter clutch. There seems to be nothing wrong with engine, I see no metal in the oil that's out of the ordinary for break in. Do you know of anything else I might have missed? I am going to check to see if its the roller weight first.
