Hook the power wire that comes out of the ta.ch into the black wire with yellow stripethat comes out of the cdi. You will get a good reading. Is that one of the wires that go down to the coil its self .I remember someone telling me that color wire in one of my other post. I looked for it Saturday when I was working on my scoot and I don't remember a black and yellow stripe .

Alley is does have a tach ,but I have not got it working yet.Do u think I should get that fixed before I continue with getting new roller weights?I have a lot of hills and flat terrain both in my area. There is a 2 wire connector that comes out next to the spark plug wire .Could that have something to do with the tach ,or do i just need to run a new wire from the tach to one of the wires off the coil ?I think I understand what u mean by the weights and the tach ..The right weights will give max rpms with out damaging the engine .I am also a good size guy .I'm in the lower 200lb range .Will that also affect the roller weight size ?

I went to a friends pawn shop today and he had the scales to way my old rollers .They where like 12.9-12.8 .So I'm going to say they are 13g.Does a new variator need a break in time or should I have done something special when I installed the new one ?I just made sure the rollers where all in place and installed it .

Know that I know my scooter is running pretty good .I was out on a ride today and I noticed it did not have the response it had before I replaced the variator .When I hit a good hill it would zip right on over with the old variator .I just don't have that know .Are the weights in the new variator to heavy or to light .They are 13g rollers.I want the response back and I do not know what to order .I am also seeing the sliders like the DR.Pulley sliders are they better than the rollers ? I still have the old rollers I will try to get them weighted tomorrow .Will one roller be the weight I'm looking for .Like in the new variator does one roller way 13g or is that a total of all 6?

I have miss lead everyone ,but I just didn't understand how the enricher worked .I took my scooter out today and rode it for a bit .I had just been riding it to work when it was colder out side just 4 blocks .3minute ride tops .Today about 5 min in to the ride all the bog was gone .It ran like a top .I guess my scooter is just a little cold natured .I enjoyed the ride ,got cold but i enjoyed it .I'm sorry for the misunderstanding .I do want a quicker response ,I think that is in my roller weights.I will start a new thread about that .Thanks to all

In the second picture .That hole is smaller .The filter was turned so that the smaller hole was what was letting air into the air tube going in to the carb .The smaller hole was letting less are into the carb .I turned the filter over like its suppose to go and it bogs.More air going into the engine .The bigger hole in picture one .

I went out and checked for vacuum leaks all over again ,everything looks good .Looks like I need a bigger jet .Where can I buy parts and stay away from ebay?If I have a #103 what would be a good guess at the jet I need to buy ?

I understand the weights being to heavy would be a slow increase in speed thru the complete throttle range and not a bog .Tomorrow I will turn that air filter back over so the small end is down .If the bog is gone then I know there is less air .That will make the bog be gone with the leaner mixture .If that corrects the problem a new bigger jet and turning the air filter back over the right way should fix my problem .

The old variator had a weight missing .That's why I replaced it .There is a small rise in the air box that fits in the big end of the air filter ,but best I understand u guys are maybe telling me that my engine could be running great and it could all be in the weights in the variator ?I still have the old variator with the missing weight . Would it hurt to put it back on with one missing weight and run my scoot down the road ? If the bog is gone we will know its in the weights. It was a variator I purchased off ebay .Do most run roller weights or the slider type ? If it turns out to be the weights .I have know ideal what to size to buy or anything .Would it depend on my weight ?
