Then I would suspect the STARTER CLUTCH, if it does not release when trying to start or after it starts they make a nasty metal rattling noise. Alleyoop Funny you should say that Allyoop . Lots of Chinese 250's seem to have weak starter clutches, (I replaced mine with an OEM Honda unit to avoid any future problems)

Vintner, thanks ever so much for the instructions. ( nice to get 20/20 hindsight ahead of time) I'm thinking something like PC-7 Mil-spec epoxy should hold it securely. (everything I've glued with it could not have been taken apart by King Kong. LOL!)

If you have a full face helmet just chain it to the bike.

I bought a nylon helmet bag with long shoulder straps, and rather than leaving it with the bike I just take it with me.

$2600 for a 49cc? .....OUCH! (i'll stick with mainland Chinese scoots!) Btw, I believe they were going for the "windblown" look with the blonde.

It's amazing that those bikes still crank over after sitting idle for more than half a century.

I agree, the nomenclature on scooters has spiraled out of control. Not to hijack this thread but this seems like a good place to state this....you can report me to the admin. A scooter scoots from place to place in a small town or downtown setting, that's what the name defines. The bigger machines that can cruise for long distances have below board tanks with fuel pumps. The longer the distance the less step through it is. BMW doesn't even try to call theirs scooters, they're urban transports. I'm not sure I like that name but it's a helluva lot better than scooter for a 650cc 60HP machine that can pop 100 MPH. I think we need new names for all the classes of scooters, suggestions? Rich Since they're being sold to yuppies (who live in McMansions.) How about Motorcycle + Scooter or a McScooter? or maybe a yupooter? Or even Pseudoscoot?

The Chinese are moving fast, now they're coming out with a higher cc class of motorbikes. At first the Japanese gave up the smaller displacement area to the Chinese, now the Chinese are after the rest of the pie.
