TOP View Lower Right side view, from the right side of back wheel. I Have not yet located the air mixture screw, thought it would be somewhere visible.

That is correct it is TO RICH when the temps go up you need to LEAN out the mixture. So Adjust the FUEL RATIO MIXTURE on it. In the FALL when temps are in the 60s and below you need to RICH the Mixture. So give that Screw a 1/2 CLOCKWISE and try it if it still needs more then go 1/4 turns only. Alleyoop Alley, When you adjust yours, do you have to remove plastics to get to the adjustment screw?

I think the screw on the carb is on the bottom of it... I have to take all the plastics off the back of the scoot to get to it. I can't seem to get to it.

Could it be a lean/rich issue with the fuel? As you guys can see, I'm all over the place with solutions... i honestly don't know what to do... lol.

Hey fellas.
So that didn't solve the issue like I'd hope it would. I guess a better way of describing the issue that I am having is more of a bog under acceleration. Now that it is really warm out, it's seems to be getting even worse. Anytime I accelerate, when it's warm out, it does this. After googling the issue a bit further, everything is starting to lead to a possible bad ignition coil. Although, honestly, I have yet to replace the spark plug. Would a faulty spark plug cause this? I figured that if it was a plug, that it would just not give spark anymore, instead of sometimes working.
I only use high octane fuel, and the carb that is in the bike has maybe 1k miles on it. I'm up for any suggestions at this point.
Thanks as always.

The problem most likely is that the CLUTCH PADS are GLAZED and are slipping. Does it slip when starting off slow at low rpms? Very easy to fix take the Nut off the Clutch and pull the BELL off and get some sandpaper and it does not take much to take the glaze off the 3 pads. You do not even have to take the belt off just sand it while the clutch is still on the shaft if you want. Alleyoop Hey Alley, It starts slipping at about 20mph all the way up to say 45 or 50 which is the speed limit where I drive. However, once it's at that speed, the stutter still occurs, but it's less noticeable since I'm already up to speed. Mainly, anytime I accelerate it happens...once it's warmed up. On the way to work in the morning, I never have this issue. I'm assuming the temperature is affecting this in some way, but I could be wrong. This issues happens on the way home everyday for me. I will try the sand paper this weekend for sure. Should I sand the inside of the drum where the pads make contact as well? Thank you.

When you say your clutch is slipping, can you discribe what its doing? How do you know its slipping? Hi Richard, Once the scooter warms up, say about after 7 miles or so, when I accelerate, it's as if the bike momentarily loses momentum for a split second at a time, like a stutter, but it's not the engine.

A while back, maybe 4 months ago, I had my variator replaced at a repair shop, and my belt. The issue I was having was the scooter felt like it was slipping under acceleration once the scooter warmed up. Unfortunately, replacing those 2 things didn't resolve the issue. The scooter now has almost 1900 miles on it, and it still slips occasionally once it warms up. Any one else seen this issue before? The only thing that I have not replaced under the cover would be the clutch assembly. If I'm going to do this, I don't really want to buy a stock clutch again. I'd rather go with a performance setup, but I don't care about gaining acceleration or anything like that. I'm happy with how it drives now. Anyone know of a good clutch assembly to replace a stock stock clutch for this scooter? 2008 yy250t Thanks fellas. Justin-

Fixed! Just wanted to hop back in here and tell you guys thank you. I went with the locktite, and made sure to add the right amount of torque from the impact wrench, and all went well. I don't think that the shop used locktite at all last time around(which was 1 month ago...). I almost feel like giving them a call and giving them a piece of my mind... bah whatever... I just will never go back there. Thanks again fellas, hopefully this thing never rattles loose again. -Justin

No special thing just make sure the Fan pulley grabs onto the splines when you put it on. To make it easy squeeze the CLUTCH pulley and PUSH down the belt in the clutch pulley then you will have some slack by the Variator so it does not push out the Fan pulley. Then tighten up the nut with your hand then hit it with the IMPACT WRENCH 3 1 second wraps and it should be good to go. Then before you put on the CVT cover start it up give it a few good revs up and down to make sure the nut does not come loose. You can even ride it around the block or something before you button it up with the CVT cover. Alleyoop Alleyoop Thank you! This will be the first time I use an impact wrench... I'd be lying if I said I wasn't scared that I was going to strip something. Also, once the fan is on, shouldn't there be a washer before I put the nut on? When I removed the cvt cover, there wasn't a washer anywhere to be found, and honestly, I don't remember seeing one ever.

this could've prevented it if you only read my posts. LOL!! Lol. I actually took it to a repair shop because I was hearing a knocking sound coming from the variator. They ordered another, and replaced it... About a month later, this happened. So yeah... from now on, if I can do the repairs, I will be! Thank you for the tip. I'm guessing that is some kind of LockTight?

So last tuesday I was riding home from work, and the variator fan came loose some how and pretty much shattered... I ordered a replacement, and it came in today. I have an impact wrench and all the tools to do the job I think. From most of the youtube videos I've seen with this scooter (2008 JonwayYY250T) it appears that I will not need to variator holding tool if I have an impact wrench. The teeth on the crank shaft don't appear to be damaged or stripped. Anyone else ever had to change out the variator fan on this model? What can I expect? Thank you, Justin-
