 Today i reached a milestone: 20.000 kms on a chinese scooter problems free So far my experience has been perfect. 1 burnt fuse, 1 tachometer cable welded and that’s it. 22 oil changes 1 spark plug (I know I should change it more often) 1 front tire changed at 12.000 kms 3 rear tires changed at 6.000, 12.000 and 18.000 kms Even the timing belt and brake pads are the factory ones It has been a work-horse scooter always carrying me around, carrying heavy cargo everywhere. It has been so dependable I use it even at the middle of the night on desert roads . Let’s so how much more miles I can squeeze out of this scooter.  |

I think nobody that buys one 1000 usd chinese scooter expects the same quality of a 3000 usd jap/euro scooter.
But I think the days when chinese scooters were the punchline are over.
Fabrication methods, feed back, internet foruns and the free market made the product evolve.
On a personal note my gy6 is just 200 kms shy of the 15.000 kms mark in less than 8 months. Not bad right? So far it costed me 1 fuse, 1 spark plug, 1 cable welded and 3 tires. Not bad right?

A few years back the company that I worked for send me for a 6 month sting in africa.
The orange fanta in africa is different than in Europe: the color is brighter and much sweeter. I drunk 1.5 to 2 litters of orange fanta every single day. In six months I was 10 kgs heavier. Today I try to be away from sodas most of the time

straightbangin you may try to clean the hazed plastics with toothpaste in a cloth. At least that works for me with car headlights

The price is great and i love the fact it doesn't use the extra large tyre on the back wheel.
Keep us posted how it goes.
As for my trip it will start in July so plenty of time still to choose the right bike. At 90% it will start in Miami

I had one of those around 2004, the hatchback version.
Its the Kalos alright, the engine is GM, Opel in europe.
Nothing fancy but a honest reliable car.
