A quick blast thru the internet says wheel bearings tend to go at 45-50000 miles,,,,some had engine troubles starting at 58-65000 miles,,,no biggie fixes other than belts and pulleys,,,two guys ,,one had 90000+ and runs like new,,,another had 100000+ same thing runs great,,,it all boils down to maintainance and regular service and use or abuse,,,,

Thanks John. My wife is actually fine, sort of. She had the surgery to finish up part of the cancer treatment. She is home. mending and looking better every day. What made the surgery so intense is that the surgeon did exploratory work to check for any recurrence of cancer. She's clean, no trace and looking forward to recovering. It's been hard for her, she's not a big girl and her body has been through the mill.

Does any one have any comments or info on Kymco 550 R?

I had to take some video equipment to my stepson-again-at his summer job in a 4H camp. It was a fabulous day for a ride. The Fashion did it's best Sport Bike imitation on the road around the reservoir and handled the curves like a much shorter bike. With some concentrated counter steering it carved the corners easily and only suffered from some of the headwinds slowing it a couple of times. It is fairly comfortable and sitting on it for an hour straight was no problem.
Here's the kicker though. As I rode I passed numerous bikes going the other way. Except for one Gold Wing everyone waved. But. As I rode thru Walton I spotted a guy on a Honda Metropolitan stopped in a driveway. I waved, he didn't. Darn scoooter snobs
