Last week I purchased an Eagle Metro 250 (helix clone) with 1100 miles on it. I gave $850 but found I need a new rear tire (pin hole in sidewall) as well as a new shock hanger bearing and a new battery. I ordered a honda bearing, seals and exhausted gasket From BikeBandit. Hope they fit. Bike starts instantly and runs well, Faster than my Gz250, but suspension is awful. Did I screw up buying this thing? I can find nothing at all on this bike. The vin plate does not state the manufacturer. The registration lists the mfgr as "Zhej" which my insurance company can't even identify but they still wrote me the policy. I beginning to think my best bet is for a tree to fall on it. Anyone know anything about this bike.

Yes, I have a Helix Clone. It is a CF Moto Fashion and it is a great bike. It's not fast but it's comfy and a blast. The suspension is uh....plush. It's a different kind of bike, you can't be in a hurry and you must be laid back. Mine won't even start if I'm in a bad mood. Why are you buying outrageously expensive Honda parts? Go to Alpha Power Sports and order from the CF Moto page. Get your VIN number and go to this site. It will tell you where the bike was made. CF Moto makes a good clone of the Helix. I'm not sure about your bike. The Helix was a legendary bike with a huge following and epic reliability. Rich

Thanks for the advice. Needed a new tire and battery, then discovered that the hanger bearing was a little rough. just wanted to get rolling so I went with what I could find. Helix cn250 parts are cheap compared to ch80 parts. Now I'm gonna be looking for some shocks so I'll give your site a go.

I think you did well on your purchase. The Honda clone bike seems to be a pretty durable little scooter. Wow you are the third person on this sight with a tire problem I just picked up a nail a couple days ago my scooter is down for a week. If I saw a deal like that I would probley look toward purchasing. The asking price hear in Pittsburgh is right around 1,400 hundred dollars for the Honda clone sight they have been for sale for a while. I wonder how much they would take or if there even really willing to go down several hundred dollars to make a deal. to the sight and hope you have a good time on your new scoot once you get it sqared away. Good luck.

Why are you buying outrageously expensive Honda parts? I'm sorry man, that sounded rude when I reread it. I didn't mean it like that and wasn't trying to be demeaning. I was directing that more at Honda for their outrageous prices...it makes me mad. I didn't mean to be rude and I apologize.
Nice looking bike, mine is white too and I have a long thread on it that you might be interested in. Rich

Yes, I have the CF Moto version. Rich is actually the authority on these bikes. He has taken off the plastics and knows it through and through. I'm prejudiced but I think it's a great bike. The CN 250 engine was first produced in the mid 1980s and refined through the years. These are clones but the architecture is solid.

Honda has a huge overhead... high powered sales staff, management and expensive workforce as well as a high powered legal team. Honda is also a huge target for legal action All these things cost money and it gets passed on to the consumer.

I know this guy that had a tire blowout and the crash killed his wife. They were riding a Honda. From all reports the tire was low and worn out. But the guy's lawyer said Honda had deep pockets and they could get at least something. I thought no way, it was the guy's responsibility to keep the tires maintained. Nope, he got some money. I don't know how much but the fact he got anything is amazing. Or maybe not so amazing in this country, but it's not right. Rich

I noticed that the fashion has a kick starter as well as electric and apparently has a Magneto rather than battery ignition. That, I would like to have.

Why thank you my friend but I would have said the same of you. I seem to remember somebody replaced the final drive shaft in about 3 hours on a Fashion...now who was that?
I noticed that the fashion has a kick starter as well as electric and apparently has a Magneto rather than battery ignition. That, I would like to have. Mine doesn't have a kick start but that doesn't mean it might not be on a bike somewhere. How about you KZ?
My owner manual shows a magneto AC feed to the CDI but my bike has a black 12v DC lead to the power port on the CDI right from the key. Oddly, there is also a killwire when normally the kill with a DC power feed is simply shut the ignition switch power to the CDI off. I've been meaning to multi these paths out but I suspect the B/W kill is hooked to the killswitch and the bike actually shuts down by cutting the DC to the CDI when you turn the key off. The sidestand safety switch also uses the killwire to ground the spark but all of the lights stay on showing the battery feeds are not affected.
There is also an unusual relay on the Fashion. When you turn on the key most of the lights come on. The big headlight would be a strain on the start mechanism. So when you hit your starter the headlight is momentarily bypassed until you release your start button. Then the relay energizes the headlight again. Rich

I don't believe any of the CN 250 engines have a kickstarter. Honda didn't put one on the Helix or Elite and that's what this engine is a clone of. There would also be a boss inside or casting mark on the variator cover if there ever was one. The Honda Rebel has a boss on the right side engine case that was where the kickstart lever was on much earlier engines.

I might be all wet, but I just read the ad on the CF Moto site and it said "kick start", I thought.
