What kind of bike is that? I can honestly say, I've never seen anything like that in the UK!

Thanks for the reply Alleyoop. I've balanced my wheels with tyres on with a static balancer, and they balance out fine. The quoted top speed for my scoot is 55mph, so maybe I'm just getting too close to the top speed. However it gets to 50mph quite well and otherwise seems happy to sit at that speed on level roads. In fact it feels as though it's got more left in it. I'm beginning to wonder if It's got a dodgy tyre on it. Will investigate further when I have time and let you all know my findings.

No ideas? Ive taken it back under warranty, but they say there's nothing wrong. But then, being an engineer I struggle to trust a lot of places. Plus to me, vibration means something wrong.

Hi all!
So this is my first proper post here apart from my pictures I've put up. I have a brand new 125cc scooter based on the ZNEN ZN125T. It's quite common in 50, 125 and 150cc formats.
It has now done about 600 miles, but since I've had it i've noticed that I get vibration under my arse when I hit about 50mph. So long as I'm below this speed it runs smooth. I've checked the wheel balancing and that was way out, so thought I'd solved it. But after a nice ride out today it seems to be exactly the same. The bike seems to happily go over 50mph, but that vibration naturally makes me feel uneasy, especially as this is my first scoot.
Any suggestions? Thanks all in advance. By the way tyre pressures are correct too.

On the majority of chinese scoots in the uk that I've seen so far, it's stamped on the upright just below the handle bars under a plastic cover. Sort of between the foot plate and the handle bars, around where there is often a helmet hanger or little glove box.

Yeah, now I've got up the courage to go over 50mph the belt area vibration seems to die back down again. I just feel like I may be over revving the engine at that speed so wouldn't want to run it that long. Tyre pressures make a big difference though, and I'm now running 20psi front and 30 - 32psi on the rear. I started with the same pressures that Piaggio recommend for their Vespa with a similar weight and size.

How's the suspension on yours; do you find it quite crashy? I'd say it's one of the let downs on my Znen. I'm not sure I'd feel safe on mine at 60mph, even though I wish it would cruise at that speed. It would be so useful here in the UK.
Also, do you find you get a bit of vibration at around 50mph from the belt area?
Finally, with your mods did you manage to get a tachometer so you can see what revs it is doing etc for tuning the drive?

That's lovely! You've done a really good job there. Have a look at my pictures in one of the other threads. (I didn't bother getting my SLR out for them though, sorry). I have a scooter called a Sinnis Spirit which is another rebranded ZNEN classic style so very similar to yours. However it's a 125 being from the UK. I'd like mine to go a little faster. It will cruise at 45mph, but the drive train seems to vibrate a little after 50mph. Feels like the gearing needs changing.

Thanks for the welcome folks.
It's already got me wanting a bigger scooter now. But, I'll enjoy it for a year or two whilst I build up my confidence etc.
Apparently the retro scooters are selling well here. Probably because real Italian style scooters are quite expensive. Am glad I didn't go all out and get a Vespa PX or similar, I'm already seeing the down side of 10" wheels.
Anyway, hoping to contribute at some point as I get to know it. I'm sure the modification bug will set in at some point too. Think I'd like to sort the gearing so it will cruise above 50mph. It currently cruises nice at 45mph but anything over that feels like its revving too much or too much drive train buzz, even though it has more to give in terms of power.

Hi all! I'm new here and from the UK. There seems to be a shortage of forums specialising in chinese scooters. They seem to be getting more popular now for budget motoring. I bought mine for something cheap to have a bit of fun with on a sunny day. My everyday transport is a Lexus IS200. Anyway, onto the interesting bit. Some pictures. Its a Sinnis Spirit 125CC. We dont really get 150CC bikes in the uk. It looks slightly different now as I've fitted a front screen and top box.
