I get a nice little whine from mine when it's doing about 7300rpm. It's how I know I'm at cruising speed without having to keep checking the speedo.

They have a different ramp so stop the weights from flying out so quickly, which causes you to use slightly higher rpms during take off. So that will put you back a step. If your take off is being affected by the heavier weights then maybe it suits the engine to jump just over 8k? Perhaps mix 6 and 5 gramme and see if that tunes it slightly nicer?
My recently fitted performance variator has given a few hundred rpm more during acceleration and in my case the most noticeable change is the higher top speed for a given rpm.

but you can't barely see if the rider is nodding or not... ?? I suppose you could compare it to a nod of approval or acknowledgement, so the head is sort of tipped to the side as well as forward. It's pretty obvious when you're getting the nod so to speak.

It's great to give the scoot a nice run out into the country. That's generally always my choice. The scenery looks stunning in the states. Can't wait to visit some time.
Over here, we give other riders a nod of the head, rather than a wave.

Nice looking tommy style scooter. Similar to mine. There's quite a few of these appearing on this forum now!
Just noticed your naraku belt, is that a different size to standard?

Are you talking in terms of the difference between a pumped or gravity fed fuel system?

Do you not get motorbike specific oil over there? Ours specify that stuff. Yes, we do. The only difference between bike oil and regular is the bike stuff has more zinc. Keep in mind that a scooter has a separate gear box and engine like a car. Bike specific is good where the transmission is crushing the oil molecules causing shear. That's why a good 85W-90 gear oil is recommended for the transmission and they recommend 15W-40 (diesel engine oil) for the scooter's engine. Thanks for that. Very interesting to know. Another little question, how come diesel engine oil over petrol engine oil then? Either way, car oil is cheaper here which is a bonus!

Weak coil?

I presume you gapped the plug? And what made you decide to replace the coil? Also, have you checked the valve clearances?
My scoot is a ZNEN based model, just as a few are on here I'd guess. My cap twist locks into place, but I can't say as i've noticed what type it is. Why do you ask?

I've found that my GY6 pulls its best at between 7000 to 8000 rpm. And I believe that is typical of most Gy6 engines from what I have read. However, I reckon torque comes in below that as mine pulls quite strong so long as it is around 5500 or above.
I've changed my weights from 12g to 15g and it still seems to pull pretty much just as well, but doesn't seem to be revving the engine so much. That suits my personal driving better at the moment as I don't do much in town start stop stuff.

Mine above is posted from photobucket. Have been using them for years and not had that problem. I just use the ready made tags from it.

Yes, the lexmoto stuff is quite good for the money. The spares backup is brilliant. I get all my stuff from them. My bike is a Sinnis, which is just another importer and slightly more expensive than the lexmoto stuff. Mine came from a lexmoto dealer and is the same bike as the lexmoto valencia all but a few body panels. At current exchange rate my bike was $1767USD

I can max mine out at about 58mph at 8000rpms, but just cruising at 50 it normally stays around 6000 unless I go up a hill or try to pass someone. Wow, I'm well short of that then! I'm doing around 7000rpm at 45 to 47mph. What set up is giving you that?

Hiya, I'm from the UK so can probably offer some advice. However, you need to give us much more information. Such as what you will be using it for. Do you intend to ride on a CBT or move up to doing your full bike license? There's a lot of love for Chinese bikes here, and I'm quite keen on mine too. But I know their limits, and they'll show depending on how you intend on using it. Lexmoto would be the largest UK importer of chinese bikes and have a number of styles for all sorts of people. Then you've got your slightly more expensive stuff such as WK or SYM who are quite popular over here. Then you've got the mainstream Jap brands such as Honda and Yamaha. The latter two will enable you to have the highest possible power output taking you to the limits of a CBT on L plates.
