First of all, welcome aboard, Make sure you go to the new members section and sign in, you already posted a pic so you are ahead of the game. Nice looking scoot and a helluva deal...nice job. Sure looks like a Roketa and I am sure one of the experts will chime in. One question though, does you lever close all the way without any brakes or does the lever not move at all? If it does not move, most likely the piston is froze up in the caliper and can be fixed. If it squeezes all the way, most likely it is leaking somewhere, do you see any leaks? Let us know and maybe we can get the original fixed so you don't have to buy a new one.

I've been a chiropractor in solo practice for 28 years. Good...I married a pain in the neck.

I was kinda thinking the other day and reading some of the other threads, we are pretty lucky in this great nation of ours. Obviously we all have computers, some of us with multiple (5 in our house). We obviously all have or have had scooters with many of us having a multiple of those (3 in our house). With the MANY different opinions and ideas, I thought it would be interesting to start a thread with what you do or did for a living. Kind of give us a background on you and what you do. I'll start: I am a district manager for Dollar General. I have been doing this for 6 years and I have been in retail for almost 30 years. I am in charge of 17 stores soon to be 18 with most in Pa. but I also have three in Ohio. For last year, I was rated #14 overall in the company out of about 700 districts. This was based on several categories such as sales, shrink and profit and ranked inside the company. We are currently a Fortune 200 company and growing quickly.

I was just in Slippery Rock Tuesday. Rated the #1 party school a few years ago, kind have cleaned up their act a bit, twenty minutes from me.
Glad I don't live in Gayville but may have to plan a road trip to Hooker!
Larry, I know where Mars is, right outside of Cranberry, never heard of the others.

Welcome eseel, I agree with the auto enricher(choke) not working but I would also recommend cleaning the carb. If has been sitting for about a year, there is a chance the jet is partially plugged which would account for the hard starting and the hesitation. I would also look for an air leak near the air filter or carb area. I had the same hesitation problem with my 150 and found a small hole wore through in the air hose from the filter to the carb. Definately clean the carb first and see if it is stil difficult to start then look at the choke, then an air leak after the carb is adjusted as Mr. OOP says

Welcome aboard and yes it sounds like the CDI. Here is what you do, get it hot again so it cuts out and won't start. Pull off the spark plug wire and take out the spark and pop it into the boot and lay it against the head or any metal. Crank the motor over and see if you get spark. If there is no spark, MOST LIKELY it is the CDI. If there is spark, MOST LIKELY it is a fuel problem. Obviously, if you have a spare plug laying around, you don't have to pull out yours out.

That looks identical to my Lance Duke 250 and I just put new tires on mine. I bought Shinko 110/90-12 and filled them with the 41 psi rated on the tire.

I guess I am lucky, I changed my oil yesterday in my scoot for the first time and there was NO metal at all in the oil or the filter screen. The oil was so dirty it looked like melted chocolate...Yum!

If you are going to do a layaway plan, you will have to do it at K-mart, Wal-mart quit layaways a few years back.:}

I just looked for the invoice from last year that I had to replace my cable also from the Roketa but no luck. I agree it has to wrap around the white plastic part and it sounds like yours is short. Better to be a bit long than short....as in most situations.

Happened to me last summer about 2 miles from home. The cable snapped in the middle so there was no way to ride it home so a pushin I went.
