Yeah I always wondered about that. And I'm not sure about plate light. I had my mom check the lights when I was flipping switches and she said she didn't see it on. How would I go about this? (after of course getting the main problem fixed). And LED upgrades. Sounds nice, not sure how to do it though. I'm not a very electricity kind of guy. I shy away from messing with electrical things. Which might explain why I'm having such a hard time with my scoot now And actually I do have a back up! haha a kymco ZX50. But well, I need a back up for a back up. It was messing up. I need to adjust some stuff. Just haven't had the time to get to it. Thanks for the offer though lol

Both tail lights work. When I hit the breaks they both come on. Just usually when the parking lights are on, there is only one on. It's the usual thing. It was like that since day one. It will be one on in parking light mode and then when I hit the breaks they both come on bright red.
And ok. I have to get one then. Can't tomorrow. I have school 8-10. And work 10-630. Weird. I guess I can teleport to work. Man of miracles!

Hmmm not sure why I said phone? LOL Phone has nothing to do with this scooter!
Alright. Well I can't find the wire that they all link on. They all link onto this big green wire. I checked all soldered points, everything! Spent 6.5 hours just looking at wires. I don't have an ohm meter or whatever it's called. Maybe I need one now? Everything was connected good! Tail lights: Usually only one would be on when the engine is on, along with solid headlights and license light. I have non of that now. The only time the head lights come on is when I hit the dimmer switch. And the only time my taillights come on (just the one like it's supposed to) is when I hit the dimmer light plus hit the high beam switch up. If the engine was hot hitting the dimmer switch plus high beam switch up will turn the radiator's fan on. The tail lights work fine when I hit the brakes. Both red lights come on nice and bright.
Any suggestions would be great. Thanks!

Well. I haven't found nothing out of the ordinary. I found the wire that my radiator fan linked up with, and my phone, and to my wire bundle for the dimmer switch, blinkers, high beam switch, and horn. Everything is nice and snug. I checked all the ground. The cord that runs everything together is green on mine?? Weird. I also checked the black fuse box by the battery, found it ran to that bundle as well. So I followed and checked it along the way and nothing. This is getting more and more strange. But I will have the scooter mechanic to my house tonight. So hopefully he can see what I can't. Wish me luck!

Haha I wish my professor's would! But I'm home now and it's time to solve this mystery! Putting the plastic on is the best part. You get to see it all coming together!

Lol that actually doesn't sound like a bad idea. May take forever but that's how long I spent trying to figure out what's wrong with my scoot now. haha.
Scootin spirit is the way to put it. I love being in the open and feeling that wind. People just don't understand. Everybody is like why not just get a car, and I look at them and say why not just get a scoot?..
Hopefully tomorrow after tracking down this bad wire I will be up and running like a charm! Wish me luck ;D

Lol I love this scooter though. When it's running good nothing can stop it, except maybe a going over a very rough railroad crossing and probably knock a critical wire loose (oops, that guy was me). I believe that was the start of all the problems. First my radiator hose came loose and my antifreeze was everywhere. Then that day I put it back on, on a test drive my air filter FELL off of my carborator. Ran it over and bent the clamp. Replaced it and had a lot more pick up after putting it on properly?? Then back tire went flat. Bought a new tire and installed. Fixed that. Then this! I'm hoping this is the end and I can get back on the road Haven't been able to for about a week now. Maybe the scoot just needed lots of TLC. After I get it running back up nice and good I'm going to give it a well deserved wash. Then Joy ride. And again. And again. Thanks a lot guys. If this fixes my problems be looking for donations ;D

This is definitely heading me in the right direction. I actually had the scooter mechanic (35 years of experience) come to my house and look at it! He said the exact thing. Unfortunately it was too dark for us to begin tracing the wire and find the break. So I'm pretty sure this is the problem. I have to credible sources telling me so So wrong sticker on the engine, how great! haha. This clears up a lot of confusion. Tomorrow after college, I will begin my wiring dance and follow those puppies. I'm so close. I can feel it! Thanks a lot again everybody!

Hey ccprof, I've checked very thoroughly to see if anything is touching (grounding out) and to my site I don't see anything! I miss my scoot and I'm working day in and day out trying to get this thing acting right. It starts and runs perfect, it just these stupid electrical problems are prohibiting me from enjoying it...

This is my scoot naked No idea what is going on. I think it may be that there was a 20A fuse where you guys believe the 15A is supposed to be. If that's the case it may have fried my line (hoping now because it's too many wires!). Hoping it's just a simple put in a 15A like it's supposed to be and bingo! But with my luck, I'll have to rewire everything after getting a new line. Oh joy!

Now this pic shows the fuse thing below the frame but above the muffler. As you can see it has two red cables to it and it also have that 20A fuse there. BTW all the fuses in the pics have been put in yesterday afternoon.

This one shows the "spare" I believe it to be on the back of the next picture. This one is a 20A as well.

Alright guys. I have my scoot naked now! And I have the pics. This first one is the black fuse thing by the battery(which is removed and this box is around the red and black cables). As you can see, hopefully, it has a 20A fuse in it. When I got to it it was this way. Should this be the one that's supposed to have the 15A fuse? If it is could the problem be that the entire line is fried? I sure hope not! I've got some more pics to show you guys to help clear up confusion.

Yeah guys I'm totally stomped. I will strip my scoot down to the frame and inspect everything very well one more time. I will take pics to help everybody understand. Give me some time to get oily ;D

Nope guys, no fuse box by the battery. I will post pics of what I am talking about in a few hours. I have to head to college in a few mins. I get out at 10 am. This fuse I'm talking about is next to the battery, on a black wire itself. It has a 20A fuse in it. I will post pics later. Seems like this is something different than the usual?
