Sorry, valve lash is the same as clearance. I don't have first hand experience with piaggio's. What did you set them at? Compression seems low. It should be checked hot with throttle at wide open.

Yep, carb. cleaning 101. Have you checked for water in the gas? Close your manual valve. Drain the carburetor float bowl into a clear jar or glass. let settle a few min. and look for water droplets in the bottom.

I'm thinking of doing this and possibly rewinding the stator. The e.f.i.system is straining the charging. I don't really have a problem with it except when I do short runs or stop and go a lot. Plus I would like to add hard wire power for my gps and maybe more lighting.

Come on girl, get that thing running already! Do this after it is started. If it runs better it is running lean (to much air). Roy

I used two bottle jacks and blocks till I got the rear high enough to place the rear tires on milk crates. Then I used my engine hoist with a strap through the front wheel and placed it on another milk crate.

Milk crates are a universal building block. I use them all the time. ;D

Man that's one hell of a dash. It could double as a sail if the engine conks out. ;D Just cover all the connection and bus bar with liquid vinyl brush on electrical tape to water proof.

What's a jet LOL. Just kidding. I got E.F.I., so I don't have to change jets. I use my laptop. But when I did have a carb. I got main jets that size from 80-105 and pilot jets from 28-45. The stock 72cc engine with 19mm carb had a 28 pilot and 80 main jets in it. With a free flow filter and stock exhaust I used a 30 pilot and 82 main. With free flow filter and supertrapp exhaust I used 32 pilot and 86 main. Each engine and carburetor is different. Other variables are altitude, temperature, ect.. What worked for mine may not work for yours. You will just have to try different jets till you find what works for you.

It is probably a crankcase vent tube. It will go to the air box. A lot of people just put a fuel filter in the end of it and attach it to the frame up high, so oil doesn't drip out and runs back into the engine. then plug the port on the air box. Photo's help, if you can post them.

Valves should be set with the engine cold. I usually do mine after it has sat over nite.
