#1 goes in the hole...after entering the hole #1 goes into #2 which is attached to the cable to open the seat. #3 goes in under the top of #2 (top of the cylinder) #1 and #2 press together and #3 goes right under both of them. Full Size Pic tinyurl.com/7d76ujw

You should count the splines on the baja before you order parts...When i was helping Jay on his trip we found out that BAJA uses a different size shaft on the rear gears. After that happened we where very careful to measure before ordering. PFS has a section dedicated to Baja..try them out.

You mean they like to turn the power off for no reason...look into getting a propane powered generator. I keep 2 100lb bottles at all times.

Yea they like to stop..we had 2 long stops (about an hour each). The Hurricanes are nothing for my side of the island...its been about 30 years since one has hit the western side.

We got home around midnight that night....long day. I have told those 2 that 1 beer will get them a DWI and they dont seem to think its a big deal. After all the stops we wasted about 5 hours for them to drink. Next time i will not be bringing them along.

I finally decided to ride to Walter's (scooterelement) store in Coamo. It was only 88 miles when we rode threw the mountains but that was not the way to come back home. There is no lights and we had already hit rain for the majority of the ride there. It took almost 3 hours to get there since the people I was riding with wanted to stop for beverages (beer) along the way. Once we arrived there it was after 5pm and Walter had closed for the day. I only had his shop number and since no one was answering we decided to see if we could at least find it. Well as we went threw the town square I hear..Random Hero...Random Hero...as I turned I see that Walter had found me before I could find him. He opened the store so we could look around and see all his new arrivals. after about 30 minutes of chit chat I made my mental notes on the parts i will be ordering from him to build my next motor and we headed for home. Here are the only 2 photos i got before it started to rain. Links to the full size pics tinyurl.com/7qgmlf7tinyurl.com/79wqjrqWe decided since it was so late and since we where close to Ponce we stopped by La Guancha ( its a boardwalk area that has great food and music) before heading home on the freeway..102 miles of potholes and bad drivers . It was a looong ride home since it was dark and we had alot of hit and miss rain. I have learned to not to trust the radar here since it is always wrong. When we left the boardwalk there was no rain on the radar..but 20 miles into the ride i was wet. This is the route we took, in all it was 190 mile ride and the scooter performed flawlessly.

the bearing just goes in the middle and the washer goes on the outside behind the nut. If you put it back on and the scooter wont start you may need to flip the washer over. I learned from changing these things several times that the 2 (nut and washer) do have a right and wrong way to be put back on.

I do not remember where I read it but some one not too long ago had a flywheel puller that did not thread into the fly wheel all the way. It is possible that it was the nut case jay with the spectacular trip/ could it be this puller came out of the same batch? He has not needed to pull his flywheel yet....nut case

The puller is reverse thread and it should go in easy. (My 1 good deed for the day, dont get used to it.)
